A delicious parfait filled with sweet, fresh fruit and freshly made cream (Uomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
~You'll love Fukuoka even more~
We send out information from Fukuoka every day that will make you say,"Yeah, that's right!"
Hello♪ I'm chippachapus and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce new sweets from "KOKURA-do", located about a 10-minute walk from JR Kokura Station!
A nostalgic and emotional atmosphere! Popular cafe "KOKURA-do" in "Tanga Market" (Uomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)
"KOKURA-do" is located in Uomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City. The shop is located in the center of "Tanga Market," known as the "Kitchen of Kitakyushu."
The news of the series of fires was shocking, but stores that were not affected have already resumed business.
The Showa-era design of the exterior gives off a nostalgic vibe.

Originally they mainly sold curry bread and fried donuts, but now they also offer dine-in exclusive sweets that change with the seasons.
Apparently, shaved ice in the summer was so popular that there were long lines!
The restaurant has six counter seats and one table that seats four.

A parfait made with fresh fruits from Tanga and freshly made cream
Starting October 1, 2022, four types of "parfaits" and "pudding a la mode" made with their signature pudding will be available for a limited time.
The fruits will change depending on the season, but they plan to offer them until shaved ice season next year.
The main ingredients of each parfait are fresh seasonal fruits purchased daily at the Tanga Market and "freshly made fresh cream." They are also made to be enjoyed with ice cream, jellies, and other ingredients.

As the name suggests, "freshly made fresh cream" is fresh cream that is handmade every morning.
It melts easily in your mouth and has a creamy taste.
In addition, the sweetness of the cream itself is kept moderate so that the sweetness of the fruit can stand out.

Let me introduce each parfait one by one.
This is the "Mixed Fruit Parfait" (1,280 yen).

Image: chippachapus
It is served with a total of seven kinds of fruit: two types of melon, apples, mandarin oranges, Shine Muscat grapes, grapes, and kiwi.
This parfait is recommended for those who want to taste a variety of fruits at once.

Inside the glass is freshly made cream, langue de chat cookies, vanilla ice cream, and blue Hawaii jelly.
The Blue Hawaii Jelly was slightly sweet.

This is the "Muscat and Grape Parfait" (1,280 yen).

It is topped with chunks of Shine Muscat grapes and grapes.
The Shine Muscat grapes in particular were crisp and juicy, and surprisingly sweet and delicious.

The glass is filled with freshly made cream, langue de chat, vanilla ice cream, and Shine Muscat jelly, which also contains fruit pulp.

The jelly had a slight white wine flavor and went perfectly with the Shine Muscat grapes.

This is the "Melon Parfait" (1,580 yen).

It contains two kinds of melon, one with red flesh and one with green flesh. It is cute with the round cut out.
The juicy sweetness that spread throughout my mouth the moment I took a bite was irresistible.

Inside the glass is freshly whipped cream, langue de chat cookies, vanilla ice cream, and melon jelly.
This jelly also contains fruit pulp, so I was able to fully enjoy the melon until the very end.

This is the "Banana Chocolate Parfait" (980 yen).

This luxurious parfait uses the equivalent of two bananas! There's a generous pile of bananas on top.

The glass contains freshly whipped cream, langue de chat cookies, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and chocolate chip banana cake.
There's also a banana on the side of the glass.

Smooth and rich in flavor! Our proud handmade pudding "Pudding a la Mode"
This is the handmade pudding "Pudding a la Mode" (880 yen), made with fruits from Tanga and freshly made cream.

Image: chippachapus
The pudding has a smooth texture, made with plenty of fresh cream and milk, and only uses egg yolks, giving it a rich, full-bodied flavor.

The bitter caramel sauce added a nice accent.

The pudding is also available for takeout, in which case it is served in a jar and you can choose from four sauces: caramel, strawberry, matcha, and mango.
It's also perfect as a small gift.
It's open until 7pm, so it's nice to be able to have a cafe in the evening.
Be sure to try the parfait and pudding a la mode in this retro Showa-era atmosphere! (Text by chippachapus)
