[Fukuoka's popular restaurant] Juicy pork bone soup and super thin noodles are exquisite! Nationwide popular ramen (Tenjin)
Hello. I'm Kawai, a writer who covers a wide range of topics, from gourmet food to town information.
In the seventh installment of our series introducing popular restaurants that have long lines, we look at Hakata Ramen ShinShin Tenjin Main Branch, where there is always a line from opening until dinnertime.
Hakata Ramen ShinShin Tenjin Main Branch (Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City) is one of Fukuoka's most popular ramen shops, visited by many celebrities!
Exit Tenjin Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line and walk northwest from the West 1 exit of the Tenjin Underground Mall for about 2 minutes to reach the store.

On the day I visited, there was a line of about 30 people across the street from the store. There was no waiting board, and people were called into the store in the order they lined up. There was a sign asking people to line up without blocking the tactile paving, so please make sure to follow that rule when lining up.

The restaurant has 12 counter seats and 16 table seats.
There are autographed autographs of celebrities displayed everywhere, so it's fun to try and find your favorite celebrity's signature while you wait for your order to be served.

The sweet pork is delicious! The superb combination of super thin noodles that are easy to slurp and the sweet soup.
Hakata Junjo Ramen is based on the concept of "an easy-to-eat, pure soup that everyone will drink up in one go." The soup, pork slices, noodles, green onions, and other ingredients are all carefully selected and made.
The menu includes the original flavor of the restaurant's name, "Hakata ShinShin Ramen" (870 yen), and "Char Siu Ramen" (1,110 yen) topped with plenty of their signature char siu pork.
We also recommend side dishes such as "Fried rice" (780 yen) and "Gyoza" (8 pieces for 590 yen).

On this day, I ordered the most popular dish, "Ramen with Boiled Egg" (1,030 yen).
The bowl has a beautiful appearance, with a boiled egg at the center, topped with roasted pork fillets, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions! The design of the bowl is also impressive.

The cloudy soup is made from pork bones, the bones of Saga Prefecture's famous chicken, "Aritadori," and local Kyushu herbs. By using carefully prepared bones, the fishy smell and harsh taste are thoroughly removed.
It has a strong sweetness and a good mouthfeel.
It is juicy yet light, making it popular with women.

The noodles are extra-thin and specially ordered from Kawabe Foods to perfectly complement the soup.
Because it's easy to slurp and you can eat it in large quantities, many people order "kaedama" (replacement noodles) (150 yen).

Don't miss the specially made char siu pork. After grilling the pork belly, it is marinated in a special sauce, and the sweet flavor goes perfectly with the soup. It's so soft that it melts in your mouth!

Ramen sauce, pepper, sesame, garlic, and pickled ginger are available on the table, so you can customize your ramen to your liking.

Check out the "Champon" - a delicious dish packed with vegetables!
Ramen is the standard dish, but champon is also a recommended menu item.
The lineup includes five types, from the basic "Hakata Champon" (1,030 yen) to the unique "Very Spicy Champon" (1,080 yen).

Personally, I recommend the "Hakata Motchan" (1,180 yen), which is inspired by the final bowl of Hakata's specialty, Motsunabe.

This champon has an even richer ramen soup and is infused with the sweetness of vegetables and plump offal. It's also packed with vegetables, so you can eat it without feeling guilty.

One of the secrets of ShinShin-style champon is that they also offer "kaedama" (replacement noodles). Combining ramen noodles with champon soup creates a unique bowl of ramen.
From 5pm onwards, they offer authentic skewers such as "Wagyu Beef Hanging Skewers" (690 yen each) and "Pork Belly" (230 yen each), as well as a menu of charcoal-grilled dishes and a la carte dishes. Office workers and others come here after work as if they were in an izakaya.

In addition to being a great place for lunch or as an izakaya, it's open until late at night, so it's also a great place to stop by for a drink after a night of drinking. The fact that it can be used in a variety of ways despite being a ramen shop is one of the reasons why there are always long lines! (Text by Kawai Tomoya)
