[Tenjin Cafe] Perfect for breakfast or lunch! New toast from a popular cheesecake shop (Fukuoka)
Hello! I'm Yumi Kuroishi, a writer who connects the city of Fukuoka with its people.
This time, we will introduce a new toast menu perfect for breakfast or lunch at a popular cafe in the Tenjin area!
HOC (Tenjin, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City), a popular cafe serving home-roasted coffee and cheesecake
A nine-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, near Susaki Park, is the cafe HOC, which opened on January 11, 2022.
This cheesecake brand is a collaboration between HAGAN ORGANIC COFFEE, a roaster cafe located in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Tokyo, and Jerome Kilboff, who served as head chef at the three-star restaurant Sant Pau in Spain.

Their signature cheesecake is gluten-free. In addition to the "Original" (860 yen, takeout 880 yen), which can be enjoyed all year round, they also offer two "Seasonal" flavors that change with the seasons using seasonal ingredients. In December, they are introducing "Pistachio" (960 yen, takeout 980 yen) and "Strawberry" (1,480 yen).

The restaurant has a total of 13 seats, including 3 counter seats and 10 table seats.
The space has a Nordic feel with a white base, creating a clean and sophisticated atmosphere.

Starting in December, the shop will be decorated for Christmas, creating a warmer and more comfortable atmosphere.

The restaurant is only open in groups of two, so you wait in line on the benches outside until you are guided in by a staff member.
Please note that the shop has a one-drink limit and payment is cashless only (cash is not accepted).
Starting in November 2025! Toast perfect for breakfast or lunch
Starting November 1, 2025, the "Original Toast" menu will be available exclusively during brunch time (10:00-14:00) and for dine-in orders!
The bread used is from their sister store in Tokyo, "THE ORDY BAKERY." It is made without shortening or margarine, and is a flavorful item made with natural yeast and fragrant spelt wheat.
Two types of toast are available year-round: the simple "Honey Toast" (700 yen) topped with honey and butter, and the "Cheese Toast" (850 yen) topped with freshly grated cheese. There are also seasonal toasts made with seasonal fruits.
There is a wide variety of toppings available, and you can customize it to your liking with toppings such as "Prosciutto" (+280 yen) and "Honey" (+50 yen). It's perfect for breakfast, but also as a delicious lunch.

This time, we asked the staff at the store for their most popular combination, and we tried topping the "Cheese Toast" (850 yen) with "Prosciutto" (+280 yen).

Underneath the salty prosciutto is a generous amount of freshly grated cheese, topped with butter and a sprinkle of black pepper, which gives off a lovely aroma the moment you bite into it.

The combination of the distinct wheat flavor of the bread, the savory taste of the prosciutto, and the mellow sweetness of the cheese makes it more satisfying than it looks! It was the perfect meal for brunch.

Starting December 1, 2025, the seasonal "Strawberry Toast" (1,480 yen) will also be available. *Scheduled to be on sale until around April.
Sweet and sour fresh strawberries are topped with homemade cottage cheese, herbs, and the perfect combination of prosciutto.

With just one bite, the refreshing sweetness of the strawberries, salty prosciutto, and milky cheese come together to create a luxurious taste that will put a smile on your face.

It's a winter treat that really gets you in the Christmas spirit!

The toast menu also comes with a set drink of your choice from three options: coffee, tea, or milk (300 yen each).
This time, we selected "Coffee." It was an Americano made with organic blend beans from our own brand "HAGAN ORGANIC COFFEE," and it had a rich flavor with a clean aftertaste. It was a perfect match with toast!
