Directly managed by a fresh fishmonger! The extremely popular "Tsukamoto Fresh Fishmonger Main Branch" (Itoshima City) offers excellent value for money seafood bowl lunches.
Located about an 11-minute walk from JR Chikuhi Line's Gafuri Station, along National Route 202, Tsukamoto Fresh Fish Shop Main Branch is a popular seafood restaurant that is crowded with customers from lunchtime onwards.

Tsukamoto Fresh Fish Shop is a long-established fish shop with a history of nearly 50 years, originally supplying fresh fish to inns, restaurants, and supermarkets in the Karatsu area.
Utilizing the discerning eye and techniques cultivated over many years, and with the desire to "serve truly delicious fish as a restaurant," the president opened "Tsukamoto Fresh Fish Store Main Branch" in Itoshima, a place with which he has a deep connection, in 2010.

The restaurant's greatest feature is its exceptionally fresh seafood, procured on the same day by the discerning eye of a fishmonger.
Many of the ingredients are purchased directly from Nagahama Market by staff who are well-versed in the deliciousness of fish, starting early in the morning, and the restaurant is committed to serving freshly prepared fish on the same day.

In particular, the restaurant's gorgeous seafood bowl lunch, which is incredibly satisfying, has gained a reputation, and it has become widely known both domestically and internationally as a renowned seafood bowl restaurant representing the Itoshima area.

The interior of the store, which was originally a model room but has since been expanded, is spacious and has a calming, friendly atmosphere.

The two-story restaurant has counter and table seats, as well as semi-private sunken kotatsu seats and private rooms, with a total seating capacity of approximately 80 people.

The largest private room can accommodate up to 20 people, making it suitable for a variety of occasions, including dinner parties and celebrations.

There is also a parking lot behind the store that can accommodate about 40 cars, making it easy to access by car from within Fukuoka city or further afield, which is another great feature.

Many foreign tourists visit the restaurant during lunchtime, and it is so popular that it fills up immediately after opening even on weekdays. However, they have also worked hard to speed up the service, so it seems that once the restaurant opens, you can often enter the restaurant relatively smoothly.

Reservations can be made by phone for dinner, and also for lunch if you are ordering a course meal.
About 400 meters along the national highway from the restaurant, you will find the second store, Nigiri Tsukamoto Fresh Fish Shop, which specializes in sushi. The popular seafood bowl is the same as at the main store, so if the restaurant is full, we recommend visiting the second store.

Ordering inside the restaurant is done via a touch panel. The lunch menu at Tsukamoto Fresh Fish Shop Main Branch is centered around seafood bowls, as well as set menu items such as tempura and sashimi.
The most popular seafood bowls are the "Special Seafood Bowl" (1,900 yen), the "Extreme Seafood Bowl" (2,700 yen), and the "Extreme Seafood Bowl" (3,400 yen), and there are three varieties available. The "Extreme Seafood Bowl" is garnished with snow crab and shrimp, and each bowl has different types of toppings and portions.

The seafood bowl and tempura set, as well as tempura menu items such as the "Tempura Gozen" (2,000 yen) and "Itoshima Tendon Gozen" (2,200 yen) are also popular, and all are sure to leave you feeling satisfied.
Another popular dish is the "Bluefin Tuna Cheek Steak Bowl" (3,000 yen), which is made with rare tuna cheek meat, grilled rare and finished with a special red wine sauce.Available in limited quantities, so it's recommended to arrive early.
There is also a wide selection of a la carte dishes, including sushi and sashimi, as well as other seasonal delicacies such as "Live Squid Sashimi" (market price), "Live Lobster Sashimi" (market price), "Assorted Sashimi" (2,600 yen), and "Assorted Tempura" (1,680 yen).

In the evening, they also serve seafood robata and yakitori grilled on a grill, and it seems they have a wider selection of sashimi than at lunchtime.

The "Morning Meal" is only available on weekends and holidays from 8am to 10am, and includes a seafood bowl with crab soup, as well as the "Live at Dawn Set Meal" (1,800 yen), which includes freshly filleted sashimi and overnight dried mackerel, and the "Itoshima Red Sea Bream Chazuke" (1,800 yen), which is seared red sea bream from Itoshima. You can enjoy breakfast dishes made with fish slaughtered that morning.

In the mornings, you can often enter the restaurant without waiting, so it's recommended for those who want to avoid waiting in line and enjoy a seafood bowl.
A must-try! "Extreme Seafood Bowl" filled with luxuriously selected seafood
On this day, I had the "Extreme Seafood Bowl" (3,400 yen), which was generously topped with luxurious ingredients.

The seafood bowl is topped with sashimi such as fatty tuna and sea bream, sea urchin, an abundance of salmon roe, and flying fish roe, and is topped with snow crab, shrimp, and gold flakes, making it a visually stunning and filling dish.

The sauce is served separately and you can choose from two types, soy sauce and sesame sauce, depending on the ingredients and your preferences.
The restaurant is "confident" about the fatty tuna, which is made using tuna from Amami Oshima or Nagasaki depending on the season, and is characterized by its rich, melt-in-your-mouth fat and deep flavor.

They don't limit themselves to local fish, but use their discerning skills to carefully select only the most delicious seafood from around the world, from domestic products such as rich sea urchin, mainly from Hokkaido, and squid from the Genkai Sea, to imported products such as Norwegian trout salmon, which they say "has the most color and fat content."

This seafood bowl is more than enough and luxurious, but some customers also enjoy topping it with additional ingredients such as sea urchin, salmon roe, and sashimi.

The seafood bowl lunch also came with miso soup, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), and pickles. The chawanmushi had a soft and fluffy texture and a rich aroma of dashi stock.
