[Fukuoka Breakfast] Enjoy luxurious rice balls and meat soup! Popular restaurant relocates and reopens (Nishinakasu)

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who loves hot information about Fukuoka.

This time, we went to a popular rice ball specialty store that had been operating in a rented space in Kego, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, but has now relocated and reopened right behind the former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Guest House in Nishinakasu!

Start your morning in Nishinakasu! Enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a spectacular view at "Omusubi Yokocho Main Branch" (Nishinakasu, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)

Omusubi Yokocho Main Store relocated and reopened on November 13, 2025.

We rent the bar "Nishinakasu Tsuki" on the second floor of "MK Hotels Nishinakasu" and are open from 7:30 to 13:00 (last orders at 12:00).

It is within walking distance of Tenjin Station and Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, making it extremely accessible.

Go up the stairs on the left side of the building and go to the back right to find the store.

The number of seats has increased significantly since the relocation, and you can now relax at the counter seats or sofa seats!

Of particular note is the terrace seating, which overlooks the historic Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall, the former guesthouse! It's truly luxurious to be able to dine in the pleasant air while admiring such a beautiful view.

If you sit at the counter inside the store, you can watch up close as the craftsmen carefully make each rice ball.

Enjoy a luxurious morning with Saga beef! The melt-in-your-mouth "Niku-sui Set"

The morning menu from 7:30 to 10:30 is very popular.

This time, I tried the "Niku-sui Set" (small niku-sui, 1,600 yen), a new menu item introduced at the relocation. It's a substantial set that includes niku-sui, two rice balls (choose from salt, fukuya mentaiko, or Asadaya mentaiko), pickles, and a rolled omelet.

I chose Fukuya Mentaiko and Asadaya Mentaiko.

The rice balls are made with "Tochigi no Hoshi" rice, which is large-grained and has a rich sweetness.

While Fukuya is known for its spicy flavor, Asadaya's is known for its savory broth. The texture of the grains is also different, so I enjoyed the difference in Spicy Fish Eggs!

The main dish in the set, Niku-sui, has a deep flavor, made with a carefully prepared broth made from kelp and bonito. It is filled with plenty of Saga beef. The umami of the Niku-sui broth, the fat of the Saga beef, and the sweetness of the rice are exquisitely intertwined, making it irresistibly delicious! I'd even wake up early to come and eat it.

For those who want to indulge even more, we recommend the "Homemade Egg Yolk Marinated in Soy Sauce" (+400 yen), a popular topping at "Omusubi Yokocho"! It transforms the Niku-sui into a mellow and rich flavor, and goes perfectly with the rice balls.

So luxurious! Limited quantity "Eel and Tuna Special"

We also recommend the limited-edition "Eel and Tuna Special" (3,500 yen with meat soup / 3,000 yen with miso soup)!

What a luxury! This set includes three rice balls: "Eel Sauce (without cod roe) rice ball," "Eel and salmon roe (with cod roe) rice ball," and "Tuna marinated rice ball"!

Served from 8:00 to 12:00, it takes about 15 minutes to prepare the order after it is placed.

The "Eel and Salmon Roe (with Mentaiko) Rice Ball" is a masterpiece that perfectly matches the overflowing amount of crunchy salmon roe and the fragrant aroma of thick eel. The crispy outside and plump eel meat inside are absolutely delicious!

The "Eel Sauce (without Mentaiko) Rice Ball" is a combination of sauce-soaked rice, mentaiko, refreshing shiso leaves and plump eel...it's a surefire hit.

The "Tuna Marinated Rice Ball" is filled with plenty of fillings. It goes perfectly with the homemade egg yolk marinated in soy sauce on top, making it so delicious you could eat as many as you wanted! This is a new menu item that is perfect for anyone looking to indulge in a luxurious morning.

They also have the most popular "Morning Set" (1,300 yen). You can order 1 to 5 salted rice balls and Asadaya Mentaiko rice balls, and it comes with miso soup (up to one refill), three types of condiments, and unlimited bonito flakes, making it a great deal.

Furthermore, you can enjoy the reservation-only "All-You-Can-Eat Omusubi (20 minutes)" (2,000 yen) and the lunch "Omusubi Set" (2-piece set 1,200 yen, 3-piece set 1,500 yen, full set 2,600 yen) from 10:30 to 12:00 (last order). Take-out is also available, so it's perfect for a variety of occasions.

Be sure to enjoy a luxurious breakfast or lunch here. (Text by Hakata Aya.)
