[Daimyo Lunch] Excellent value for money! Enjoy the rich and exquisite "Black Vinegar Subuta Set Meal" at a popular Chinese restaurant (Fukuoka)
Hello. I'm Shou Fujita, a gourmet writer who finds happiness in set meal lunches.
This time, we will introduce a popular Chinese restaurant in Daimyo, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, where you can enjoy a satisfying set lunch in a sophisticated atmosphere.
Enjoy a rich Chinese lunch in a modern space! Popular restaurant "Rintan Toiet" (Daimyo, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)
Located about a 5-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, Barbizon 95 is a complex building in the Daimyo area, lined with unique restaurants and bars.
Located in one corner of the mall is the Chinese restaurant Rintan Toiet, which is a popular restaurant that attracts many people every day as it offers authentic Chinese food at reasonable prices in a relaxing atmosphere.

The owner, Mr. Kawazu, was so impressed by the deliciousness of the Chinese food he ate as a staff meal during his student days that he decided to pursue a career in cooking.
Although he studied French cuisine at vocational school, he found that the familiar flavors based on soy sauce and salt and the way dishes were put together suited him well, so he ended up choosing Chinese cuisine.

Currently, he operates three restaurants, including "Rintan Toiet," "Rintan Ippankyo" in Hirao, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, and "Rintan Ipponbou" in Kagoshima City, and continues to express with the same passion the Chinese cuisine that "shocked" him when he was a student.
The store's name, "toiet (toi = you)," reflects Kawazu's desire to create a place that brings happiness to people close to him.

The interior of the restaurant is a calm, modern space with wood grain and greige as the main colors, setting it apart from traditional Chinese restaurants.
The soft natural light streaming in through the large windows and the shadows cast by the striking plants add a touch of elegance to the minimalist interior.

Kawazu says, "Space is an important element in creating a restaurant," and the design, which is embodied in every detail of his aesthetic sense, resonates comfortably with the atmosphere of the Daimyo area.

Taste and volume are both satisfying! Lunch at "Rintan Toiet"
At lunchtime, they offer popular set meals and clay pot rice, as well as a la carte dishes such as noodles, and casual course meals.
The "Set Meals" (all 1,540 yen) come in four varieties: the ever-popular "Sweet Pork Shoulder Loin in Black Vinegar," the numbing and spicy "Sichuan Mapo Tofu," the standard menu of "Shrimp Braised in Chili Sauce" with large shrimps tossed in plenty of chili sauce, and the "Recommended Meal of the Week."

All set meals come with five side dishes, rice, and soup, making for a satisfying meal.
The ever-popular No. 1! Enjoy the set lunch "Pork shoulder loin in black vinegar"
On this day, I ordered the "Pork Shoulder Loin in Black Vinegar" set meal. The moment it arrived at the table, I was immediately captivated by the lustrous, shining black vinegar sauce of the sweet and sour pork.
Five carefully prepared side dishes, steaming soup, and finely grained white rice...the aroma and warmth that come together to create a delicious meal will naturally whet your appetite.

The main component of the sweet and sour pork sauce is a blend of black vinegar, which has a unique sour taste, and familiar grain vinegar.
Additionally, Chinese soy sauce with caramel adds depth, creating a rich, creamy sauce.

With one bite, the rich aroma of black vinegar fills your nose, and the rich flavor, which combines sweetness and sourness, will make you want to eat more rice.
The tender pork shoulder loin, with just the right amount of marbling, is sliced into strips, which allows it to blend seamlessly with the sauce and creates a pleasant contrast with the crisp texture of the onions.

In Kawazu's Chinese cuisine, he carefully considers and adds ingredients that harmonize with the main ingredients, without straying from the theories of Sichuan and Beijing cuisine that he learned, to create dishes that are both familiar and surprising.
The side dishes for the day were five varieties: "Steamed Chicken with Bang Bang Chicken Sauce" with a mild, deliciously spicy sauce, "Stir-fried Pickled Eggplant" with a creamy texture, "Bean Sprouts Wrapped in Yuba" with a refined and light taste, "Stir-fried Mushroom and Egg" with a fragrant flavor, and "Chicken Skin and Onion Salad" with a refreshing richness.

Although the spiciness and umami vary, each dish has a highly refined taste that could easily become the main course, and the satisfaction of each side dish is one of the reasons why Rintan's set meals are so popular with so many people.
The soup has a mild flavor made from a combination of glass noodles, eggs, and wakame seaweed. The moderate thickness and mild umami gently envelop the rich aftertaste of the sweet and sour pork, leaving your mouth feeling refreshed.

What remains after the meal is not an excessive heaviness, but a feeling of satisfaction and euphoria.
"Rintan Toiet" is neither a local Chinese restaurant nor a high-end restaurant, and the "powerful" Chinese cuisine that moved Mr. Kawazu that day will give you the push you need for a great lunch, making it a must-visit restaurant. (Text by Fujita Sho)
