The volume and flavor are outstanding! Jiro-style ramen with extra-thick pork slices is addictive (Chikuzen Town)

Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.

I've been to quite a few ramen restaurants, but there's actually one genre that I've personally always avoided...

That's the "Jiro-style." The classic mantra of "vegetables, garlic, more" and that mountain of food visual... I was a little nervous about whether I'd actually enjoy it even though it was my first time.

However, this time I was recommended to go there, so I decided to go.

A hearty Jiro-style ramen! "Ramen Taisho" (Chikuzen Town, Asakura District)

We arrived at Ramen Taisho in Chikuzen-cho, Asakura-gun. The parking lot is spacious, so it's easy to access by car.

There is a ticket machine on the left as soon as you enter, so first purchase your meal ticket here.

This time, I decided to

・Ramen pork 3 pieces (1,300 yen)

・Special Tsukemen (1,280 yen)

・5 gyoza (380 yen)

・3 large fried chicken pieces (400 yen)

I ordered and took a seat. It was a portion for one person. It was a selection with plenty of volume.

The restaurant has counter seats and table seats, and has an atmosphere that makes it easy to come in whether you're alone or in a group. There are also many female customers.

A must-see for those who haven't tried it yet! "Jiro-style Ramen" ordering report

Once you sit down, you'll be asked the famous Jiro-style question.

"Would you like garlic?" "Would you like more vegetables?" It's the kind of thing you'd be surprised to find out that you can add more back fat, vegetables, and garlic for free.

This time I asked for "more back fat, vegetables, and garlic." I was a little nervous.

First, we had the "5 Gyoza" (380 yen). They looked a little large.

Wow, the meat is so juicy.

The skin is soft and the juices ooze out when you bite into it. To be honest, it's delicious enough without any toppings. You can just eat it as is.

Next, this was brought out timidly from the kitchen: a heaping serving of "Ramen with 3 Pork Slices" (1,300 yen).

So this is Jiro-style ramen... This is crazy... How should I approach this altitude?

Apparently there is an advanced technique called "Tenchi-gaeshi" (this is what people who are used to eating Jiro-style ramen do first, where the noodles and vegetables are swapped and the vegetables are immersed in the soup), but this time I'll just go with the topping out.

The pork slices are about 1.5cm thick, which is a thickness you won't see in regular ramen.

It's amazing how soft it is at this thickness! It's more like it crumbles than you can chew, and the delicious flavor of the meat spreads in your mouth, which is irresistible. It's so tender.

What's more, it's so filling that you'll probably feel full after eating three slices of this meat.

This shredded pork called "Nikuhogushi" is also delicious. It's good to eat it with noodles, but it seems even more enjoyable to put it on rice.

To be honest, at first I was thinking "Hmm?" and sipping it without really understanding what it was, but after the third sip I realized something and my impression of it completely changed.

The soup is soy sauce-based with a strong garlic flavor, a taste I've never experienced before. Delicious! From this point on, I couldn't stop eating.

This has a mysterious, magical deliciousness to it.

And the noodles! First of all, they are by far the thickest I have ever eaten.

The wheat aroma is strong and the texture is chewy. Every time you take a slurp, the flavor fills your mouth.

At first, it was a bit of a struggle to get to the noodles, but the crunchy vegetables and rich soup were a perfect match. I was overwhelmed at first, but by the time I finished eating, it was a bowl that I wanted to eat again!

Next up is the "Three Large Fried Chicken" (400 yen). This is one of the biggest fried chicken I've ever eaten! Just this one plate will probably fill you up, so I recommend sharing it.

I hope this gives you an idea of what it means. It's so big that it's barely big enough to hold with chopsticks, and it's quite heavy.

The meat juice oozed out from the inside! It was so delicious you'll get addicted to it. This is definitely a dish you should order.

And this is the "Tokugo Tsukemen" (1,280 yen). If there are people who don't like garlic, I would personally recommend this.

The pork slices in this dish are even thicker, about 2cm, making it very satisfying to eat.

The dipping sauce is rich in fish powder, and the umami flavor is thoroughly mixed into the pork slices...

Wow! This is great.

From the outside, I had the impression that it would be a bit harder, but it's actually incredibly soft.

The noodles have a strong wheat aroma, so the best way to enjoy them is to dip them in the dipping sauce and then slurp them up. You'll be hooked. Finally, dunk the vegetables in the soup and eat them all in one go - this is the best.

It's rich, but the aftertaste is light and refreshing.

This was my first time experiencing a Jiro-style ramen, and it was more fun than I expected and I was very satisfied.

Highly recommended for those who want to eat a hearty meal or want to try a different kind of ramen! (Text by Yorimichi)
