The store was named Kaiun-do (Kaiun Hall) because the two warm and kind staff members are involved in the archery rituals at the shrine. There are also good luck goods available in the store, so you'll feel energized just by visiting!
Many customers who come to the store are surprised and impressed when they receive their Taiyaki Sandwich, and they smile and exclaim "Wow!"
Seeing that smile is the happiest moment for the couple.

A total of 17 varieties! A taste report of the "Taiyaki Sandwich" that has become a hot topic as "reverse fraud photo!?"
There are about 17 different types of taiyaki, ranging in price from 280 yen to 550 yen.

Taiyaki sandwiches are a very unusual style in which the dough is baked in separate pieces, coated with butter syrup, and then topped with ingredients after the order is placed and eaten cold. The moist and fluffy dough also has a unique flavor.

Even though I ordered after looking at the menu, the size was much larger than I expected, so much so that the restaurant is sometimes called a "reverse photo fraud restaurant." The portions are so generous that the filling overflows from the batter.
This time we will introduce 6 different menu items.
Bean jam butter
"An Butter" (370 yen) is a sandwich of plenty of bean paste and slightly salty butter. You'll be surprised at how heavy it is when you receive it.
The bean paste is made by a Japanese sweets wholesaler and is moist, glossy, and has a refined taste. There is plenty of it, but the sweetness doesn't linger on the tongue, so you can eat it all in one go.

Bean paste butter whipped cream
The "An Butter Whip" (460 yen) is "An Butter" topped with whipped cream, and is so generous with cream that you wonder if it's even possible to have that much! It's not too sweet and light, so you'll be left thinking "delicious!" right to the very end.

By the way, other menu items that use bean paste include "An" (280 yen), "An Butter" (370 yen), and "An Whipped Cream" (370 yen).
Good luck sandwich (apple compote)
The "Good Luck Sandwich (Apple Compote)" (460 yen) is a taiyaki filled with plenty of homemade apple compote!
The apples used change depending on the season, and the gentle sweetness and tartness of the compote goes perfectly with the dough.

The fluffy dough is coated with a hint of maple syrup, which brings out the deliciousness of the apple compote even more!
Here is the view from the back (photo). There is a substantial amount of compote sandwiched inside.

Good luck sandwich topped with whipped cream
The lucky sandwich can also be customized with variations such as "Lucky sandwich with whipped cream" (550 yen) or "Lucky sandwich with custard" (550 yen).
This time I ordered the "Good Luck Sandwich with Whipped Cream," which also had a generous amount of whipped cream! The fluffy, gentle sweetness of the whipped cream and the elegant flavor of the apple compote were perfectly balanced.

Chocolate cream + mango topping
I tried the "Chocolate Cream" (280 yen) with the popular "Frozen Mango Topping" (+300 yen).
This cake is also filled with an abundance of luxurious chocolate cream.

The sweetness and tartness of the mango and the richness and bitterness of the chocolate complement each other perfectly, creating a delicious combination! This is a must-try for chocolate lovers.

By the way, other chocolate-related menu items include "Chocolate Whip" (370 yen), "Chocolate Banana" (410 yen), "Chocolate Banana Whip" (490 yen), "Chocolate Cream Whip" (370 yen), and "Chocolate Special" (460 yen).
Cheese cream + frozen strawberries
"Cheese Cream" (370 yen) is an irresistibly delicious combination of slightly sour, refreshing cream cheese and dough!
You can add "Frozen Strawberry" to this dish (S: +100 yen, M: +200 yen, L: +300 yen). I chose the M size this time.

The smooth, melting cream combined with the sweetness and tartness of the strawberries made it incredibly delicious.

They also had the "Raspberry Cheese Cream" (460 yen), which has an exquisite raspberry flavor, so I'd like to try that next time!
You can also enjoy a variety of other menu items, such as "Custard" (280 yen) and "Custard Whip" (370 yen).
By the way, one dish that has been making a big impact on social media is the "Drowning Whipped Cream Swamp of Sea Bream" (price of the taiyaki + 1,000 yen, limited to 10 servings per day, reservation required by the day before). It's a "drowning taiyaki" wrapped in about 1kg of fresh cream. Be sure to check out this surprising menu item. (Text by CHIHIRO)
