[Nakasu Kawabata Area] Weekends Only! A Popular Bakery's Exquisite Brunch Starting at 9 AM (Fukuoka City)

Hello. I'm Shou Fujita, a gourmet writer who prefers bread in the morning.

This time, we will introduce a bakery cafe in the Nakasu Kawabata area where you can enjoy a luxurious brunch menu only on weekends.

A new attraction in Kamikawabata Shopping Arcade! The popular bakery cafe "PAN DEL SOL" (Kamikawabata-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

Located just a two-minute walk from Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, PAN DEL SOL stands out among the more than 130 shops in the Kamikawabata Shopping Arcade, with its eye-catching red "BAKERY" sign.

This bakery cafe opened in April 2024 by SOL FAMILIA Co., Ltd., which operates many popular stores in the city, including the pancake cafe Cafe del SOL and the tart specialty store We ARE READY.

From Tuesday to Friday, "PAN DEL SOL" offers around 60 to 70 types of bread, including popular open sandwiches and Danishes, which can be enjoyed for takeaway or to eat in.

Bread is not sold on weekends and holidays, but brunch is available, with dine-in only plates and French toast available.

The interior of the restaurant is a classical and relaxing space, with European antique tables carefully selected by the owner lined up in an orderly fashion.

In addition to table seating, there are also sofa and terrace seats available, and one of the great attractions of PAN DEL SOL is that you can relax and enjoy your chosen bread and eat-in menu in the spacious interior.

Its spacious interior and gorgeous breads made with seasonal ingredients have become a hot topic on social media, making it a popular bakery that is visited by many people from Japan and abroad on weekdays and weekends.

Introducing a luxurious brunch menu that can only be enjoyed on weekends!

The brunch, available only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, features special menu items such as the "Salmon and Avocado Salad Plate" (1,600 yen), "Croissant French Toast" (with milk gelato, 1,400 yen), and "Prosciutto, Tomato, and Arugula Cheese Sandwich" (900 yen).

There is a wide range of drinks available, from coffee and tea to milk and soft drinks, so you can choose one that suits your bread and your mood.

On this day, I ordered the popular "Croissant French Toast" and the "Arnold Palmer" (600 yen), which is iced tea with lemonade added.

"Croissant French Toast" is a dish made by cutting two of their signature croissants, which are filled with plenty of domestic butter, dipping them in an egg batter, and then slowly baking them in the oven in a casserole.

The accompanying fruit is apparently selected in accordance with the season in consultation with vendors and farmers, and on the day we visited it was lavishly garnished with fresh Muscat grapes and blueberries.

The croissants are light and fluffy, with a crispy, fragrant surface and a moist, mouth-watering bottom, soaked in the batter.

This is a very satisfying menu, where you can enjoy a lightly sweet croissant with the accompanying Hokkaido milk gelato and honey, adjusting the sweetness to your liking.

The Arnold Palmer is a two-layered drink made with Darjeeling tea, which has a pleasant, slightly bitter taste, and lemonade, which has a refreshing acidity and a gentle sweetness.

The lemonade was made with lemon puree from Kobako Lemon Kobo in Tajima, Jonan Ward, and the granular texture of the fruit added a fresh touch.
