A cute rice flour sweets shop that boasts fluffy and chewy chiffon cakes (Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Hello. I'm Momo, a sweet tooth who loves going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce a super cute rice flour sweets shop in Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City.
You'll definitely be coming back! Chiffon Little King, a shop specializing in rice flour sweets made with the owner's own unique taste (Kamiyoshida, Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Chiffon Little King is a rice flour sweets specialty store located 13 minutes by car from JR Shimozone Station along Prefectural Route 25. It is a small shop that manufactures and sells products with a small number of staff, and celebrated its 6th anniversary on April 11, 2025.
This fluffy, chewy chiffon cake is made with 100% rice flour from Fukuoka Prefecture and carefully selected ingredients such as domestically produced brown sugar, bright yolk eggs, and granulated sugar beets, resulting in a new texture. It has received rave reviews for its deliciousness and cuteness!
Previously, it was only take-out, but on May 30, 2025, it moved from Shimonuki to Kamiyoshida, and now offers eat-in options as well.

At the entrance, you will be greeted by the store's mascots, Bob and Mike.

There are seven parking spaces next to the store, six reserved for the store and one shared space, making it convenient for guests coming by car.

The moment you enter the store, you're greeted by a sweet, lovely aroma ♡ The interior is so cute that you'll want to take pictures no matter where you look.
The eat-in space has two tables that seat two people and two tables that seat three people.

The showcase featured original "Chiffon Sandwiches" (from 480 yen) filled with cream and other fillings, "Basque Cheesecake" (600 yen), "Rice Flour Tarts" (from 540 yen), "Smooth Pudding" (360 yen), and "Basque Fresh Daifuku" (540 yen).
Take-out is also available, and the lineup changes depending on the day. They update the showcase on Instagram, so be sure to check it out before you go!

There were also "Chiffon Cups" (350 yen each) baked fresh that morning, and "Chiffon Holes" (1,500 yen each), which are a bargain and measure 14cm in diameter, enough for six chiffon cups.

The shop owner, Kaoru, is also a mother who is busy raising children. She says she wants to make sweets that she would want to feed to her own children, and she makes all of her products by hand, using only the finest ingredients.

There were also some lovely craft items made with the store in mind, and I couldn't help but stare at how cute they were ♡

Let me introduce the sweets I received ♪
Black Tea Maron
"Tea Marron" is a chiffon sandwich made of Earl Grey chiffon cake with pure fresh cream sandwiched inside (eat-in 611 yen, take-out 600 yen).
It is topped with rice flour bear cookies, chestnuts, and chestnut cream. It's so cute it's almost a shame to eat it.

Image: momo
The chiffon cake has a fluffy and chewy texture. It has a lovely Earl Grey aroma and pairs perfectly with the sweet fresh cream and chestnuts!

Image: momo
"Tea Marron" is available all year round, but they also have chiffon sandwiches made with seasonal fruits.
Mocha Mocha Nuts
"Mocha Mocha Nuts" (eat-in 510 yen, take-out 500 yen) is a coffee-flavored mocha chiffon filled with bitter cream and topped with caramel nuts.

Image: momo
The mocha chiffon and cream, made with high-quality coffee powder, have a slightly bitter, mature taste. The crunchy texture of the nuts adds a nice accent, and it's one of my personal favorites.

basque cheesecake
"Basque Cheesecake" (eat-in 611 yen, take-out 600 yen) made with a generous amount of Hokkaido cream and cream cheese.

Image: momo
With a moist and smooth texture, and a gentle sweetness and richness, you'll be hooked once you try it! Although this is a chiffon cake specialty store, their Basque cheesecake is also a must-try.

Sweet potato and cream cheese tart
"Sweet potato and cream cheese tart" made with sweet potato and cream cheese from Hokkaido (eat-in 590 yen, take-out 580 yen).

Image: momo
This tart is made with plenty of domestically produced Yotsuba fermented butter and is sweet and delicious ♡ It pairs perfectly with the chunks of sweet potato and cream cheese, making it very satisfying to eat.

Butterfly Pea Tea
The "Butterfly Pea Tea (ice)" (eat-in 611 yen, take-out 600 yen) is characterized by its vivid purple color.

Image: momo
The sourness of the lemon gives it a clean, refreshing taste, making it the perfect accompaniment to sweet desserts.
Take-out is also available! Chiffon cups are also recommended as gifts.
We took out some carefully wrapped "Chiffon Cups" (350 yen each), freshly baked that morning. The one on the left is "Mochimochi Milk Plain" and the one on the right is "Premium Matcha."
By the way, among the "Chiffon Cups," the simple and classic "Mochimochi Milk Plain" seems to be the most popular ♪

Image: momo
"Premium Matcha" has a rich matcha flavor and is truly premium! The chewy texture is also irresistible.

As they are individually wrapped, they are also recommended as gifts or souvenirs.
This is a wonderful chiffon cake shop that you'll want to visit again and again, so be sure to check it out! (Text by momo)
