This time, we will introduce a very popular Western restaurant in Yukuhashi city.
The daily lunch specials are extremely popular! Restaurant Kaen (Yukuhashi City), a long-established Western restaurant that fills up quickly
Restaurant Kaen is located along National Route 201, about a 3-minute drive from the Yukuhashi Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway.
Founded in 1971 (Showa 46), this is a long-established Western restaurant that is extremely popular among locals.

The restaurant is spacious and has tables and sofa seats that seat 2 to 6 people. I visited before 12 o'clock on a weekday, but the restaurant quickly filled up.

The restaurant is particular about the fact that all of its menu items are "handmade."
During lunchtime, the popular "Daily Lunch" (1,000 yen) is a great value option available only on weekdays from 12:00 to 14:00. It includes a daily main dish, rice or bread, and a drink.
The most popular dish is the "Headless Shrimp & Hamburg Steak" served on Thursdays. On the day I visited, more than half of the customers ordered the "Daily Lunch Special."

In addition, there are 39 other lunch menu items, including our signature hamburger steak (from 1,200 yen) with salad, spaghetti (2 types, 900 yen each), omelet rice (from 1,000 yen), set meals (from 700 yen), and steak (from 1,000 yen)!
You can also add a set of "Rice/Bread" (+200 yen, extra rice +300 yen) or "Rice/Bread & Soup/Miso Soup" (+400 yen).
There was also a wide selection of drinks on the menu, including soft drinks (from 400 yen) and alcoholic drinks (from 400 yen).

The hearty hamburger steak is delicious! The most popular dish is the "Fried Shrimp & Hamburger Steak"
The most popular dish is the "Fried Shrimp & Hamburg Steak" (1,700 yen) with salad. "Rice" (+200 yen) is also available as a set.
First, the salad that comes with the set. It's slathered in a tangy dressing and is very refreshing.

Next comes the main course! The sizzling sound it makes as it is brought to you on a piping hot iron plate is sure to whet your appetite. The large fried shrimp with head on and the palm-sized hamburger steak make a big impact!

When you cut into the hamburger steak, the juices ooze out. It has a soft and fluffy texture and is very juicy! It's delicious when mixed with the sweet demi-glace sauce, and goes perfectly with rice.

It also came with a soft-boiled fried egg, which went perfectly with the hamburger steak.

The fried shrimp with head on is so big that it's difficult to lift with chopsticks, and is topped with tartar sauce.

It also came with potatoes, carrots and spinach, and the carrots in particular were sweet and delicious.
The nostalgic taste of "Omurice Hamburger"
If you want to eat both omurice and hamburger steak, we recommend the "Omurice Hamburger Steak" (1,500 yen). It's a very filling and satisfying dish.
