A set meal with ramen for just 980 yen! A Taiwanese restaurant offering a wide variety of delicious and filling lunch sets.

Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.

I found a Taiwanese restaurant in Chikugo City that is sure to leave you full.

Let's raise our expectations and get going.

Fully booked even on weekdays! "Kaka Taiwanese Cuisine" (Chikugo City) offers 30 different lunch set meals starting from 880 yen

Located about a five-minute drive from Chikugo Driver's License Examination Center along National Route 209, Taiwanese Cuisine Ka Ka is a popular restaurant that is always bustling with customers.

This time, I visited for lunch (11:00-14:30). It is bound to be full even on weekdays during peak hours, so I recommend going right after opening at 11:00 or after 13:30.

The moment you enter the store, the atmosphere changes completely.

The exotic red lanterns and nostalgic atmosphere are reminiscent of the Taiwanese food stalls where locals gather, and somehow it makes you feel excited.

The casual, homey feeling is also great.

I was surprised when I saw the lunch menu.

With prices rising these days, it's amazing that there are still restaurants offering lunch starting at 880 yen!

There are 30 types of hearty lunch set meals (main dish, rice, chef's choice dish, salad, pickles) available, all priced at 880 yen with soup, or 980 yen with ramen (choose from five types).

A hearty meal! We recommend the lunch set + ramen set.

This time, I ordered the "Mapo Shrimp and Egg Lunch + Taiwan Ramen" (980 yen) and the "Yakitori Lunch + Salt Ramen" (980 yen).

This is the "Mapo Shrimp and Egg Lunch + Taiwanese Ramen." I was surprised to see that the size of the ramen set was the same as a bowl at a typical ramen shop.

This is a volume that could stand on its own as a single item. To be honest, I'm happy to pay 880 yen just for this.

Now, let's have some Taiwanese ramen.

Ah, this is it!

This soup seeps into your mouth smoothly. It's soy sauce-based, but it's not too light, and not too overpowering either, with just the right balance.

It has a unique flavor that is completely different from Japanese soy sauce ramen.

It even has a little minced meat on top, so it's still satisfying even without the char siu.

The noodles are medium-thick and curly, which mixes well with the soup.

The soup clings to the noodles so well that you don't even need a spoon, and it slides right into your mouth along with the soup.

And then there's "Mapo Shrimp and Egg."

It has an addictive spiciness that leaves your mouth feeling spicy, and goes perfectly with rice.

Even though I have ramen, I still eat the rice so much that I end up having seconds.

The combination of plump shrimp, fluffy egg, and mapo tofu. It was my first time trying this dish, but I loved it so much that I'll definitely be ordering it again.

Next, I'd like to introduce the "Yakitori Lunch + Salt Ramen." The "Yakitori" here is a little different.

You can see that it's huge in volume, but that's not the point.

To make it easier to eat, it is deep-fried and then carefully cut into bite-sized pieces, so you can gobble it down even when it's hot.

The specially made sour sauce is also excellent, and the quality is so good that you'll find yourself eating it with gusto.

Until now, I had always thought that Taiwanese ramen is made with soy sauce, but I never imagined that it came with salt.

This has a milder flavor than soy sauce, which is why it doesn't overpower the flavor of the dish and is good as a palate cleanser after spicy food.

This clear "Shio Ramen" soup is light in flavor, so you can drink it all up without feeling guilty.

This is a revolution.

If you order spicy food, you can also pair it with this.

Out of curiosity, I also ordered the "Stir-fried Green Peppers with Pork" (980 yen) as a single dish.

The spiciness stands out and the flavor is authentic.

However, even though I knew it would be too much, I ended up full and was in a difficult position...but they arranged for me to get some takeout.

I also brought home some "Shrimp Chili" (1,180 yen), which I had been wanting to try, and brought a touch of Taiwanese flavor to my dinner at home.

You should definitely give it a try! (Text by Yorimichi)
