[Hakata Station Soba] Be amazed by the tender offal! Enjoy the popular "Miso Motsunabe" for lunch♪ (Fukuoka)
Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who brings you fun gourmet information about Fukuoka.
This time we will introduce "Hakata Motsunabe Yamanaka Hakata Branch," a popular restaurant in the east area of Hakata Station.
Near Hakata Station! Popular motsunabe restaurant "Hakata Motsunabe Yamanaka Hakata Branch" (Hakata Station East, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hakata Motsunabe Yamanaka Hakata Branch is located just a 3-minute walk from the Chikushi exit of JR Hakata Station, making it extremely accessible.

Once you get off the elevator, you'll find the restaurant is larger than you'd expect, with a spacious interior boasting 128 seats.

The interior is themed around a fusion of Europe and Asia, and is exotic and calming, giving you the extraordinary feeling of being in a colonial-style mansion.

The interior, based on muted brown and white, exudes a sense of dignity and elegance, and is suitable for a wide range of occasions, from dates and girls' nights to business lunches. The lighting is just right, making it an extremely comfortable place to be.
There are plenty of sofa seats, so you can relax comfortably. There are also two private rooms that can accommodate up to six people, and if you connect the doors, it can accommodate up to 12 people (private room fee 3,000 yen per room), so it's perfect for entertaining or dining with a group.

Open for weekday lunches too! Enjoy the popular "Miso-flavored Motsunabe" with plump offal
The Hakata branch is the only Yamanaka branch that is open during weekday lunch hours and offers a lunch menu.
"Motsunabe (with extra vegetables)" (2,380 yen per portion) is available in three flavors: miso, soy sauce, and shabu-shabu style.
The basic order is for two people, but there is also a "Single-Person Motsunabe" (3,300 yen) that can be enjoyed by one person. This is 1.5 times the normal amount! It's so big you wouldn't believe it's a one-person hotpot, and you're sure to be very satisfied. The restaurant is spacious, so it's great that you can enjoy your "solo motsunabe" without worrying about the people around you.

On this day, I ordered the miso flavored "Motsunabe (with extra vegetables)" (2,380 yen per portion).

At Yamanaka, the pot is brought to your table already cooked, so you can enjoy it piping hot as soon as it arrives.
The soup is rich but not too heavy, and the deep flavor of the Kyushu blend miso clings perfectly to the offal.
The offal is firm and juicy, and the flavor spreads with every bite, making it addictive. There is also konjac in the hot pot, which adds an accent to the texture.

The crunchy texture of the burdock root goes perfectly with the soup!

The accompanying vegetable platter is also very filling and will leave you feeling full. You can also add on the "Motsu Vegetable Set" (2,200 yen) or "Motsu Only" (2,200 yen), so those who want to eat even more can rest assured.
As well as the final dish of "Chanpon Noodles" (330 yen) and "Rice for Zosui" (330 yen), there are also toppings such as "Fukuoka Prefecture Eggs for Zosui" (110 yen), "Green Onions for Zosui" (110 yen), and "Nori Seaweed for Zosui" (110 yen), so you can combine them however you like.
This time I had rice porridge, and the broth from the offal and vegetables blended well with the richness of the miso, making it delicious to the last bite.

Hakata Motsunabe Yamanaka Hakata Branch is conveniently located near the station, yet the food and atmosphere are top-notch. It's also recommended for entertaining guests from outside the prefecture, so be sure to stop by. (Text by Hakata Aya.)
