Opening on July 18th! Canal City Hakata's new gourmet street "KUOHKA" (Sumiyoshi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
On Friday, July 18, 2025, a new gourmet street, "CANAL Gourmet Street KUOHKA" (hereinafter referred to as "KUOHKA"), will open on the B1F of the Grand Building, which houses the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka within Canal City Hakata.

The name "KUOHKA" is a combination of "eat" and "enjoy," and the concept is "a gourmet street where you can casually enjoy delicious food." It is a truly fascinating "gourmet food stall street" that has gathered 21 stores that are attracting the attention of gourmets, including 8 stores that are opening for the first time in Japan or Kyushu, 7 new types of stores from popular stores, and stores supervised by Michelin-starred chefs.

The rows of restaurants are all popular and add to the excitement of Fukuoka, the food capital. The restaurant has a rich variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. There is also a wine bar and snack bar, so everyone, young and old, can enjoy a delicious meal.

Its distinctive feature is the overlapping of open and semi-closed spaces, resembling a town. The alleys and shops are comfortably arranged, making it a bustling gourmet street.

[Japan's first Teppanyaki, Okonomiyaki, Galettes] OKOMUSU Paris
The okonomiyaki restaurant that captivated gourmets in Paris, France, has finally made a triumphant return to Hakata.
The signature dish is the light, fluffy and flavorful okonomiyaki. They also have other dishes that combine French esprit with Japanese techniques, such as fragrant teppanyaki and authentic Breton-style galettes.

[First in Kyushu: Japanese cuisine] Yakiuoishikawa Hakata
Tsukiji Aozora Sandaime is a traditional Edomae sushi restaurant that was founded in Tsukiji 20 years ago. Its founder spent 10 years coming up with a new concept for the restaurant, Yakiuo. It serves fresh fish grilled on a hot plate, making it "grilled meat without having to grill it."

[Kyushu's first bar serving French skewers] French skewers Beignets Canal City Hakata branch
"French Kushiage" (deep-fried skewers), inspired by the traditional French pastry "Beignets", has arrived in Kyushu for the first time! It is a new and delicious dish that uses a generous amount of seasonal Kyushu ingredients and has a French flair in the sauce and finishing touches.

[Kyushu's first sushi] Tsukiji Aozora Sandaime Hakata
"Tsukiji Aozora Sandaime" serves authentic Edomae sushi, delivered by the third generation owner of a long-established fish wholesaler in the Tsukiji Outer Market. The restaurant was started by a collaboration between Ishikawa Taishin, the third generation owner of "Maruhachi Ninuke" (later known as "Tonofuku Suisan"), a 100-year-old company founded in Tsukiji Market, and Maeda Yasue, the third generation owner of "Aozora Sushi", which was founded after the war.

[Kyushu's first fusion cuisine] Bistro Tout La Joie

[Kyushu's first Italian restaurant] NY.Italian.N0 CODE H.by FUMIO YONEZAWA
He was the first Japanese sous chef at Jean-Georges, which has been awarded stars since the first issue of the Michelin Guide New York. After returning to Japan, he was put in charge of Jean-Georges Tokyo, which also won one star in the Michelin Guide Tokyo (2014). This New York tapas & Italian restaurant is supervised by Fumio Yonezawa, who continues to enjoy brilliant success.

The cuisine is supervised by Daisuke Takubo, the owner and chef of TACUBO, an Italian restaurant in Shirokanedai, Tokyo, which has been awarded one star in the Tokyo Michelin Guide for seven consecutive years since 2016.
We offer "NIPPON Gozen" which is made with carefully selected meat, fish, and vegetables grilled in a charcoal oven and finished with a touch of Japanese cuisine.

[New business type: skewers & bar] Kohada skewers
A casual skewered bar and restaurant run by the famous Hirao, Fukuoka restaurant "Ko-ryori to Steak Seiki."
The skewers are made with chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, dengaku, and other ingredients in a slightly European style. There are also many other healthy dishes on the menu that go well with alcohol.
At the bar you can enjoy specially selected drinks such as seasonal fruit cocktails, and you can also just come for the alcohol.

[New business type: Chinese ramen] Kyushu Chinese chicken noodles Kimura Hanten by NOGI NISHIAZABU TOKYO
This restaurant is supervised by Chef Kimura Kazuaki, who also works at the Chinese restaurant "NOGI" (formerly known as Azabu Yu) in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo, which has been selected as a Bib Gourmand and Selected Restaurant in the Tokyo edition of Michelin.
The theme is "Kyushu Chinese, chicken, and noodles," and the "Lemon Chicken Soba" and "Chicken and Pork White Soba" are must-try dishes. This skewered offal restaurant is run by the popular izakaya restaurant "Furuya" in Hirao, Fukuoka. They use extremely fresh ingredients through their own procurement route and offer skewers that specialize in offal.

[New business type: Oyster bar & Italian] BACARO CARBON oyster bar
"BACARO CARBON oyster bar" is a new business venture run by "Carbon," a charcoal grilled raw oyster and seafood restaurant with its main store in the Yakuin/Josui area. This oyster bar serves fresh raw oysters in the style of a "bacaro" izakaya in Venice, Italy.
Their signature product, raw oysters, are delivered directly from quality producers across the country and there are always 10 varieties available. The main restaurant's charcoal-grilled dishes are also available in small portions.

THE CITY BAKERY, a bakery originating from New York, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Fukuoka and is opening its first store in the Hakata area.
The store offers a variety of popular Fukuoka-made products, including breads and pastries that recreate New York recipes.
