[Hakata Station] A popular croissant shop perfect for souvenirs and light snacks! "Soft serve ice cream is also a must-try"

Hello! I'm Hakata Aya, a writer who shares the hottest information about Fukuoka.

This time, I went to the extremely popular croissant specialty store "Mikazukiya" located inside JR Hakata Station, as I heard that it had been renovated.

Reopening! Even larger and more powerful "Mikazukiya Shin-Hakata Station Store" (Hakata Station Central Street, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

On July 1, 2025, Mikazukiya Hakata Station Sandwich Shop and Mikazukiya Hakata Station Store were merged and reopened as Mikazukiya New Hakata Station Store on Ippin Street in Hakata Station. It is located where Ueshima Coffee used to be. It is larger than before and the furniture is neatly arranged! The spacious aisles make it easy to see and choose products.

The great thing about this store is that it's easy to drop in before commuting or while traveling or on a business trip. The location is also super convenient, allowing you to quickly buy something before boarding the Shinkansen.

12 types of popular croissants + seasonal limited editions♪

When you think of "Mikazukiya," you think of the croissants, which are made with natural yeast and have a gentle sweetness and a crispy texture. In addition to the 12 standard flavors such as "Plain" (284 yen) and "Chocolate" (324 yen), seasonal limited flavors will also be available.

This time of year, "Matcha" (318 yen) is available! It is individually wrapped, making it perfect as a gift or present.

Furthermore, the crispy, light and fragrant "Rascuro" (from 79 yen) is also available in cute little gift types (from 330 yen), making it a convenient little present.

Check out the refrigerated showcase! A wide selection of sandwiches

The refrigerated case also has a lineup of hearty meal options such as "croissant sandwiches" and "sandwiches." These would be great for your usual lunch or as a light meal on the Shinkansen!

Another highlight is the "Soup that pairs well with croissants" (from 464 yen), a collaboration with Pietro. With its rich, mild flavor that is characteristic of Pietro, it's irresistible for bread lovers.

The newly released soft serve ice cream is delicious ♡ A must-try for pistachio lovers!

A new addition to the renewal is soft serve ice cream!

This time I had the "Sicilian Pistachio" (702 yen). The moment I put it in my mouth, the aroma of pistachio spread softly, and although it was rich, it had a refreshing aftertaste. It went perfectly with the rusks that came with it, and it was as satisfying as a dessert plate.

There were also a variety of other flavors available, including "Premium Fresh Cream" (518 yen), "Strawberry Mille-feuille" (734 yen), and "Soybean Flour and Red Bean" (734 yen)!

Exclusive to the Shin-Hakata store! "Custard Cream Croissant"

The "Custard Cream Croissant" (384 yen) is also available exclusively at the Shin-Hakata store.

Inside is a generous amount of homemade custard cream made with eggs from chickens raised with spring water at the foot of Mount Unzen in Nagasaki, and fresh cream.

The rich, slightly sweet cream goes perfectly with the croissant.

Cake? Japanese sweets? Check out the new and unique anpan (bean bun)

Also available is an anpan that is unique to Mikazukiya and is like a cake and a Japanese sweet.

There are three types: "Black bean paste" (280 yen), "Shiratama" (324 yen), and "Cream cheese" (360 yen).

I tried the "Shiratama" which is a chewy dough luxuriously wrapped in shiratama and bean paste. The dough is similar to a croissant, and the aroma of butter, sweetness, and richness are irresistible! The bean paste, carefully made with 100% Hokkaido-grown red beans, has a refined sweetness, making this a new type of anpan that combines elements of both Japanese and Western cuisine.
