[Kurume] Spicy, delicious, and reasonably priced! A yakiniku restaurant with exquisite secret sauce (Fukuoka)
Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.
I've been feeling exhausted from the extreme heat lately, so I was walking through Kurume City's Ichibangai Shopping Street in search of some stamina when I came across a very intriguing sign.

I couldn't help but make a detour, so I headed in.
Delicious, spicy, and reasonably priced! "Tasty Yakiniku Karakaratei" (Kurume City)
A five-minute walk from Nishitetsu Kurume Station, the restaurant we're introducing today, "Taishu Yakiniku Karakaratei," is located a little ways back from the main street.

The words of encouragement written at the entrance to the store are quite inspiring.
The meat is marinated in a secret sauce. You can choose the spiciness of the sauce from "super spicy," "regular," or "mild," so even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy it.

Okay, I'm ready and here I go!

Once inside, it's surprisingly small. There are mostly counter seats, and the atmosphere is welcoming, even if you're alone.

It's not noisy, so you can relax and enjoy your yakiniku. I like the homey atmosphere.
So I checked out the menu and...the prices were more reasonable than I expected!

There are two types of dipping sauce: the one on the left is a mild "sweet sauce," and the one on the right is a red "spicy sauce" that looks like it's coming.
Now, the difficult journey begins.

The delicious spiciness will become addictive! Marinated meat with rich flavor
First, the appetizer, which is thankfully free.
And there's no cutting corners. Start by preparing your palate with the daily appetizer and mildly spicy kimchi.

Now, the meat you've been waiting for is here.
Start with a platter of "Top-grade loin" (1,518 yen), "Beef skirt steak" (1,188 yen), and "Top-grade short ribs" (1,408 yen).

As it cooks, a fragrant smell fills the air, and your mouth goes into battle mode.

I always order kalbi first when I go to a yakiniku restaurant, so I can't leave it out.

Image: Detour
It's not as spicy as it looks, and the sweetness of the fat makes it mild. It's delicious.
And the skirt steak, which was also very bouncy and satisfying to eat.

The top loin was also tender and had just the right amount of fat.

If you dip it in the spicy sauce, the spiciness festival in your mouth will become even more intense.
At first I was scared and only put a little on, but towards the end I was splashing it on so much that I was surprised at myself.
It's strange, but it's really addictive!

Next up is the "Mixed Hormone" (1,078 yen).

Since hormones tend to lose fat easily, grill them on the outside of the grill.

Wrap it in lettuce from the "Rolled Vegetables" and it's a real treat.
It's so light you can eat it like a salad, but it's so delicious it's hard to choose.

I was a little worried, but it wasn't super spicy, but rather just deliciously spicy, and the flavors were all carefully calculated.
On a hot day, pairing it with a cold beer is just irresistible.

Be sure to check out the non-spicy menu as well
Let's take a break from the spicy food and try the "Thinly Sliced Kalbi with Green Onion and Pon" (1,188 yen).

Grill one side thoroughly and top with plenty of salted green onions.

It's so good, it's beyond description.
It moves forward without adding anything

Once you dip it in the special sauce, your mouth will be filled with happiness again.
Ah, I just want to stay here forever. I want to sink into this sauce.

And I was curious about the "Fresh Raw Liver" (858 yen). Of course, it's not okay to eat it raw.

Be careful not to overcook it...

It's just the best. Aaaahhh!
It's great with sesame oil and salt.

Must-try side dishes
"Spicy Miso Cucumber" (418 yen) is a great dish to eat while the meat is grilling.
No, this is definitely going to be spicy...or so I thought.

Image: Detour
The perfect balance of the moisture from the cucumber and the spicy miso makes it just right.
This is something you can eat endlessly. It also goes well with alcohol.

To finish off, try the "Tail Ramen" (968 yen).
To be honest, I thought it was just a bonus ramen.

Image: Detour
No, no, this is amazing.
The gentle yet rich soup slowly seeps into your tingling mouth.
In fact, you might even come just for this. It's the perfect way to finish off a meal.

So, "Taisho Yakiniku Karakaratei" is spicy but delicious, and the relaxed atmosphere will leave you feeling completely satisfied.
Eating yakiniku on a hot day while sweating is something special.
So, please look forward to the next article! (Text by Yorimichi)
