[Kurume] We recommend the delicious canelés and cheesecake! A "hideaway" cafe for adults in the city center

Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.

While strolling through Niban-gai Shopping Street in the center of Kurume City, you'll discover a stylish space that will make you stop in your tracks.

In fact, this cafe opened in April 2025. I was so excited that I immediately went there, thinking, "I have to go!"

Ukiyo no Kakure, which was formerly located in Ichibangai Shopping Street and sadly closed in 2023, has relocated and reopened as foricula, a shop selling canelés, cheesecake, and coffee.

Previously, they had been operating out of rented space, but this time they finally opened their own store, which has given them an even more special atmosphere and powered them up.

You're drawn in by this appearance and just want to open the door.

Once inside, the atmosphere is completely different from the previous "Ukiyo no Kakure." A greyish, sophisticated, adult space spreads out before you, and you can't help but exclaim, "Wow...!"

Even if you just drop in by yourself, you'll feel comfortable.

The lighting and accessories are well-thought-out, and the outside light shines in beautifully, making any angle a picturesque space.

It is also recommended for those who want to enjoy their own quiet time. This may be what an "adult hideaway" is all about.

The display case is filled with canelés, cheesecakes, and baked goods, and just the sight of them is enough to get you excited.

You can order takeout, or enjoy it in the store. The price is the same whether you order takeout (incl. 8% consumption tax) or eat in (incl. 10% consumption tax).

Wine and craft gin are also available, so you can enjoy a drink during the day.

First, I ordered the "Canelé/Earl Grey" (380 yen), which caught my eye.

The canelés, served on a simple plate, are a size larger than average.

The outside is crispy and slightly hard, while the inside has a chewy texture - the contrast is surprising.

The aroma of Earl Grey spreads softly and the elegant, gentle sweetness fills your mouth.

This is a dish you should definitely enjoy with a cup of coffee.

And let's not forget the "Plain Cheesecake" (550 yen).

You can see how moist it is even in the photo. It's a cake with a texture that goes beyond imagination.

The fork goes in with a fizz, and when you put it in your mouth, you're hit with the elegant aroma of cheese and a moist, melting texture.
