An exciting event will be held where you can purchase local breads from all over Japan in Tenjin, Fukuoka.
[July 2-8, 2025] Breads loved by locals from all over the country will be gathered together! "Local Bread Festival" (Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store)
Like "Manhattan" in Fukuoka, there are local breads all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. It has long been loved as soul food by the locals, but it is hard to find outside the prefecture.
You can actually buy it at the event space on B2 of the main building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store from Wednesday, July 2nd to Tuesday, July 8th, 2025!
The "Local Bread Festival" features a wide selection of specialty breads from all over the country. You might even get a taste of traveling!

Let us introduce the breads that will be available at the Local Bread Festival!
Hokkaido
Hokkaido [Nichiryo Bakery] "Yokan Bread" (240 yen)
The bread is coated with yokan and sandwiched with milk-flavored cream made with milk from Hokkaido.

Tohoku Region
Aomori Prefecture [Kudo Pan] "British Toast (Crunchy MAX)" (260 yen), "No Longer Human Castella Sandwich" (360 yen), "Run Melos Brown Sugar Castella Sandwich" (360 yen)
Of particular note is Kudo Pan's long-selling British Toast, which features a perfect harmony of carefully selected margarine, granulated sugar, and soft bread.

Iwate Prefecture [DOUNEL] "Danish Bread Plain" (880 yen), "Rye Sliced Raisin" (280 yen), "Rye Bread Walnut & Fig" (680 yen)
The "Danish Bread Plain" uses homemade natural Levain yeast (fermented yeast). The sheets, rich in the flavor of egg yolk, are layered 54 times by experienced craftsmen, and it takes three days from preparation to baking.
It's crisp on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside. It has the delicious taste of wheat and a strong acidity, and the more you chew it, the more delicious it becomes.

Iwate Prefecture [Orion Bakery] "LL Chikara Anpan (Bean Jam)" (220 yen), "LL Chikara Anpan (Zunda An Milk Flavor)" (220 yen), "LL Chikara Anpan (Bean Jam Salt Butter Flavor)" (220 yen)
"LL Riki Anpan" is lovingly wrapped by hand one by one. It is filled with plenty of bean paste and mochi, and you can enjoy the harmony of the textures of the bread dough, mochi, and bean paste.

Yamagata Prefecture [Taiyo Pan] "Beta Chocolate" (240 yen), "Fukujinzuke Curry Bread (Spicy)" (240 yen), "Wagokoro" (880 yen)
"Beta Chocolate" was released in 1964, the year of the Tokyo Olympics, and has been loved locally for over 60 years.
This is a dish of an open bun with butter cream and chocolate spread boldly on top. It is said that connoisseurs eat it with the bun closed, which makes it even more delicious.

It is made with crispy biscuit dough and soft pastry dough, and is filled with plenty of homemade cream.
