[Ogura Lunch] Delicious and guaranteed to be a repeat customer! A popular restaurant serving original spice curry and biryani (Kitakyushu City)

Hello. I'm Momo and I love to eat.

This time, we will introduce a curry specialty restaurant in Bakakari, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City.

Take-out is also available! Spice curry restaurant "craft & spice 330monkey" (Umakari, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

Craft & Spice 330monkey is a 4-minute walk from Tanga Station on the Kitakyushu Monorail. It opened on August 14, 2023 and is affectionately known as "Sazamon."

This authentic curry restaurant is run by a husband and wife and serves curry, biryani (seasoned rice), etc. The old-style building is very impressive.

The name of the shop, "330monkey", comes from the address of the shop, "3-3-30", and the name of the bike the couple rides, "monkey125" ♪

When you enter the store, you can smell the delicious aroma of spices.

It is a small restaurant with tables that seat two or four people.

Enjoy the delicious, authentic spice curry!

At lunchtime, you can enjoy "A Lunch" (1,000 yen), where you can choose one of four types of curry, "B Lunch Mixed" (1,200 yen), where you can choose two of five types of curry, and "Biryani Lunch" (1,200 yen), which comes with a type of curry of your choice and rice, a dish eaten in India and Pakistan.

All curries come with dal curry (bean curry) and a side dish.

They also have a limited menu, and on the day I visited they had the Nepalese set meal "Dal Bhat" (1,200 yen).

Dal (bean soup) and bhat (rice) are the main dishes, and are accompanied by chicken and mixed dal tarkari (vegetable side dish), tomato and radish achar (pickles), etc. Dal bhat is said to be a common home dish in Nepal.

Here, I'll introduce what I received.

Lunch A

"A Lunch" (1,000 yen) comes with a choice of curry and dal (bean soup). The spicy aroma will whet your appetite.

You can choose from four types of curry: "Chicken curry", "Beef tendon curry", "Keema curry", and "Kerala chicken curry". This time I chose "Keema curry". You can also get a large serving of rice for an additional 100 yen (small serving is ±0 yen).

The flounder plate is super cute ♡ This plate, which is also a feature of "330monkey", is based on the motif of "Joka flounder", a specialty of Hinode Town, Oita Prefecture. With the idea of "eating curry elegantly on a flounder plate", each plate was handmade one by one at Hinodeyaki Fujiwara Kiln under the guidance of his master, Kesari.

On top of the rice are three colorful side dishes.

They are particular about the rice they use, using long-grain Indian basmati rice. The restaurant is particular about cooking basmati rice and Japanese rice in a half-and-half ratio. It is long and slender in shape, has a good aroma, and is not sticky, making it ideal for curries and biryani.

The carefully simmered keema curry had just the right amount of spiciness, and the authentic flavor was savory with a hint of hotness. It also contained plenty of minced chicken, making it meaty and satisfying to eat.

The soup contains several kinds of beans, is viscous and creamy, and has an exquisite aroma of spices.

B Lunch Mix

"B Lunch Mixed" (1,200 yen) includes a choice of two types of curry, soup and a mini dessert.

I chose "chicken curry" and "beef tendon curry."

"Chicken Curry" is made with soup made from slowly simmered chicken bones and original spices.

It's full of tender chunks of chicken and has a rich, delicious flavor! It's not spicy, so it's easy to eat even for those who don't like spicy food.

The "Beef Tendon Curry" stewed in red sake is very rich and flavorful! The beef tendon is so tender that it crumbles when you bite into it.

You'll be addicted to the spicy and hot taste.

The mini dessert for the day was "almond jelly" topped with goji berries. It had a smooth texture and a refreshing taste. It was perfect after a curry!
