A four-minute walk from Watanabedori Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line. Umeyama Teppei Shokudo Main Branch appears when you enter the alley along Watanabedori Street.

Since opening in 2009 with the concept of "a restaurant serving delicious fish set meals," the restaurant has attracted attention for its excellent value for money and authentic fish set meals, and has now grown into a popular restaurant where lines form before the restaurant opens, even on weekdays.

The owner, Umeyama Teppei, has a background in culinary arts, having honed his skills in a variety of settings, starting out in an international restaurant, then working in an Italian restaurant and a bar.

While working at a bar, Umeyama would often visit a set meal restaurant before going to work, which inspired him to think, "I want to open a restaurant where people can eat whenever they're hungry."

After that, he worked at Aji no Masafuku, a restaurant famous for its fish dishes, and at an izakaya, while also learning how to handle fish at a fish shop, and solidifying the image of his own set meal restaurant.

At Umeyama Teppei Shokudo Main Branch, the menu is decided based on the fish that is procured that day, and 40 to 50 different set meals are served each day.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of fish and cooking methods, including the popular year-round "Silver cod mirin set meal" (1,630 yen), the high-quality "Hokkaido kinki boiled in soy sauce set meal" (3,980 yen), and the "Goto bluefin tuna medium fatty tuna sashimi set meal" (2,980 yen).

In addition to the fish set meals, the "Fried Chicken Thigh Set Meal" (1,080 yen) is also very popular, and the main fried chicken dish is a masterpiece that Umeyama developed by "picking the best parts" of the fried chicken from the restaurants he has worked at until now.
