[One of the most popular pastas in Fukuoka] Worth the queue! A unique specialty menu (next to Ohori Park)

Hello. I'm Sho Fujita, a gourmet writer who eats pasta almost every day.

This time, we will introduce a famous restaurant near Ohori Park where you can eat the famous pasta that has become rooted as Fukuoka soul food.

"Rarukii" (Arato, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) is a pasta restaurant that weaves together the passion of its famous owner, and where long queues are inevitable.

Ralukii is a famous pasta restaurant located along Meiji Dori, about a 4-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the Subway Kuko Line.

As they do not take reservations, there are often long lines at lunchtime even on rainy days, making this one of the most popular restaurants in Fukuoka.

Ralukii was opened as a coffee shop in Hirao in 1974 by the parents of the owner, Michiko Kono.

At the time, it was a place similar to a manga cafe where businessmen would gather for set meals and enjoy table games and other entertainment.

Later, when the building was rebuilt, it was renovated into a pasta restaurant, and the pasta and pizza made by the mother, who is a talented cook, became popular.

Boosted by word of mouth from celebrities, baseball players, and other famous people, the restaurant has become established as one of Fukuoka's most famous restaurants, despite having to relocate several times.

Many customers were attracted by the dependable personality and cooking skills of the famous proprietress, who Kono describes as "a very strong-willed mother," and would come to meet her even back then.

Although Kono had no experience in the food and beverage industry, he learned everything from his energetic mother, sister Chihiro, and the staff, and he still cherishes his parents' thoughts and recipes to this day.

The restaurant is filled with bright sunlight and has comfortable sofas and tables, creating a casual, unpretentious atmosphere.

Pets are allowed in the window seats on the Meiji Dori side. These special seats were created based on Mr. Kono's desire to create a place where people could casually dine with their pets, who are also members of the family, as he is a dog lover.

You're sure to find your favorite pasta! A tempting pasta and pizza menu

The menu includes a wide variety of unique dishes, including the famous "Pepe Tama" (1,485 yen), "Ripe Tomato, Bacon, and Garlic" (2,090 yen), which is made using only the moisture from tomatoes delivered from Itoshima, and "Pepe Natto" (1,650 yen), which was created as a staff meal.

In addition to the standard menu of pasta and pizza, you can also create your own dish by combining your favorite sauces and ingredients.

Although there are countless variations, all of the dishes are made by hand, from preparation to final decision, to preserve the mother's recipes.

At Ralkii, you can enjoy the same menu all day long, but at lunchtime they also offer a great value set that includes a daily pasta dish, soup, bread, and salad.

First up, try this Fukuoka soul food, "Pepetama."

On this day, we had the most popular pasta, "Pepetama," which is ordered by about 80% of customers, and "Mentaiko Cheese Toast" (495 yen per slice).

"Pepetama" is a specialty pasta at "Rarukii" that was created in response to a customer's request at the time. It is a dish based on peperoncino and wrapped in fluffy eggs.

The chewy noodles are exquisitely intertwined with the flavor of garlic and the rich flavor of Itoshima brand eggs, creating a sophisticated yet satisfying taste.

The eggs are cooked to perfection, resulting in a fluffy and creamy texture that is one of a kind and cannot be found in other egg-based pasta.

You'll be tempted to eat it as is, but if you add the special chili oil "La Taba" on the table, it takes on a whole new level of deliciousness.

The savory spiciness of the chili oil adds depth to the dish, ensuring you'll enjoy it until the last bite.

"Mentaiko Cheese Toast" is a luxurious dish made with thick, buttery soft French bread, filled with cheese and mentaiko cream sauce.

The slightly sweet and fragrant fluffy toast is paired with the rich flavor of cheese and the mild spiciness of Spicy Fish Eggs, creating a rich flavor that is sure to please.

At the famous pasta restaurant "Rarukii," Kono and his staff work hard to preserve the mother's wish to "provide a taste that can only be experienced here."

Although it is a thriving restaurant, it is also a warm and welcoming establishment, filled with family ties and stories. (Text by Sho Fujita)
