This time, we will introduce you to an excellent yakiniku restaurant located in Kitakata, Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City.
I don't really want to tell you about it! You can enjoy delicious yakiniku and rice at "Nikudokoro Tokinoya" (Kitakata, Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City)
Tokinoya, a restaurant serving freshly cooked Hagama rice and yakiniku, is located an 8-minute walk from Kitakata Station on the Kitakyushu Monorail.
The owner, who has 11 years of experience running a yakiniku restaurant, carefully selects A4 to A5 rank Kyushu Kuroge Wagyu beef (female cows) and rice to serve.
This is a restaurant that pays close attention to every step of the process, not just purchasing the ingredients, but also cutting, cooking, and seasoning.

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and there are counter seats that are easy for one person to use, as well as a tatami room that can seat four to five people.
Sauces, rock salt, pepper, etc. are available on the table so you can enjoy it however you like.

A popular menu item, "Our specialty rare cuts platter," where you can enjoy six different rare cuts
The shop's specialty, "Our specialty rare cuts platter" (2 people 5,500 yen, 3 people 8,250 yen) is a popular menu item that includes 6 types of rare cuts, chicken thighs, pork belly, sausages, and grilled vegetables. Recommended for those who want to enjoy a little bit of each type of meat.
The rare cuts on offer vary depending on the day, and on the day I visited they offered "Tatebari", "Nakanikku", "Shikinbou", "Sasanomi", "Inner Thigh", and "Kainomi".

First, from the left, we have "Tatebara", "Nakanikku", and "Shikinbou".

"Tatebari" is a part of the cow's outer rib, closer to the front leg, with a lot of fat and a very rich, sweet and flavorful fat!
"Nakaniku" is the lean meat in the center of the thigh. It is low in fat and has a good elasticity and texture.
"Shikinbou" is named after the shape of the cut that resembles a gold bar, and is made from the outer thigh muscle. The more you chew it, the more delicious the meat will be.

Next from the left are "Sasanomi," "Inner thigh," and "Kainomi."

Among the outer ribs, the "Sasanomi" has a strong red color and is delicious with its delicious and sweet fat. It's so soft that it melts in your mouth.
The "inner thigh" is the part of beef that has the least amount of fat, and has a strong, light flavor. The "Kainomi" cut, named after the shape of the cut that resembles a "shellfish," has an excellent balance of lean meat and fat, and the delicious flavor of the fat is elegant and delicious!

The "Choregi Salad" (500 yen) is packed with vegetables such as lettuce, purple onion, cucumber, daikon, and mizuna. The Korean seaweed and dressing are just the right amount of salty, so you can eat as much as you like.

The beautifully grilled black-haired wagyu beef nigiri sushi "Otoro Nigiri 2 Pieces" (530 yen) is served with soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger to choose from.

Beef tongue platter
The "Beef Tongue Assortment" allows you to taste four different cuts of beef tongue (2 pieces each, 2,720 yen).

"Thick-sliced beef tongue" is as the name suggests, very thick! It's juicy and satisfying, and the more you chew it, the more delicious the flavor spreads throughout your mouth.

"Salted Tongue with Green Onions" is grilled with green onions on top, and the delicious flavor of the beef tongue matches perfectly with the refreshing crunchy texture of green onions! It's even more refreshing when eaten with lemon.

Domestically produced heart
"Domestic Heart" topped with plenty of sesame seeds (640 yen).
It has little fat and a light taste, and has a crunchy texture. There is no unpleasant smell, so even I, who don't like offal, was able to enjoy it.

Freshly cooked rice in a pot
If you come here, you should definitely order the "Freshly Cooked Hagama Rice" (660 yen). It is cooked after the order is placed, so it takes about 20 minutes to cook.
They change the type of rice they serve every month so that customers can enjoy a variety of rice. On the day I visited, they served "Uonuma Koshihikari."

Just as you would expect from freshly cooked rice. Beautifully shiny, plump, sweet and delicious ♡ I could eat bowl after bowl.

At lunchtime, you can enjoy the "Goku Lunch" (3,350 yen) or "Miyabi Lunch" (2,550 yen), which are sets of freshly grilled rice cooked in a pot and carefully selected meat.

The restaurant is run by a single owner and has limited seating, so we recommend making a reservation.
