[For a little luxury lunch in Ohori] Foie gras is also popular! Choice of clay pot rice + Hanagozen set meal <Also available at night>
Hello. I'm Shou Fujita, a gourmet writer who finds happiness in set meal lunches.
This time, we will introduce a popular clay pot izakaya near Ohori Park where you can enjoy a special and luxurious lunch.
Enjoy clay pot rice and flower basket meals in a modern Japanese space! The hugely popular clay pot izakaya "Gaogao Ohori Branch" (Ohori, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City)
Gaogao Ohori store is located in an alley southwest of Ohori Park, a 9-minute walk from Ropponmatsu Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.
This is the second branch of "Gaogao Imaizumi Store," which has gained popularity for its luxurious clay pot rice, with the slogan "Making clay pot rice a part of Fukuoka's food culture."

At the Ohori branch, you can enjoy a leisurely meal of clay pot rice for one person, made with luxurious ingredients, and the visually gorgeous Hanaboshi Gozen meal, any time of the day or night.
Once you open the heavy wooden door, you'll find a sophisticated, chic, Japanese-modern space.

A row of lustrous Banko-yaki clay pots are lined up on the counter near the entrance, allowing customers to get a close-up look at the manager, Ariyoshi, carefully cooking rice in the clay pots.

There are also partitioned bench sofa seats at the back, so families and groups can enjoy their meals in comfort.

A dream collaboration of luxurious ingredients! A luxurious lunch of "Hanaboshi Gozen" and "Clay Pot Rice"!
The basic menu consists of five types of Hanaboshi gozen meals and nine types of clay pot rice, and you order one item of each as a set.

Popular dishes from the Hanaboshi Gozen menu include the "Mentaiko Tai Chazuke" (2,970 yen), which features red sea bream sashimi and large Spicy Fish Eggs, and the "Twelve kinds of colorful Hanaboshi Gozen" (2,640 yen), which allows you to enjoy colorful dishes little by little. Other dishes include the "Beef fillet steak Hanaboshi Gozen" (3,300 yen), "Tempura Hanaboshi Gozen" (1,980 yen), and "Tai Chazuke Hanaboshi Gozen" (2,750 yen).
There is a wide lineup of clay pot rice to choose from depending on your budget and preferences, from simple white rice at no extra charge to the specialty "Foie Gras Clay Pot Rice" (additional charge of 2,750 yen). There are also other dishes such as "Salted Mackerel Clay Pot Rice" (additional charge of 880 yen), "Seared Wagyu Beef Clay Pot Rice" (additional charge of 990 yen), and "Beef Tail Clay Pot Rice" (additional charge of 2,750 yen).
This time, I ordered the "12 Kinds of Colorful Flower Basket Set Meal" and "Spicy Fish Eggs and Salted Mackerel in a Clay Pot Rice" (additional charge of 990 yen).

After waiting a while after ordering, dishes such as clay pot rice and flower basket meal sets are brought to you on mini tatami trays.
The "12 Kinds of Colorful Flower Basket Gozen" features 12 gorgeous dishes lined up in a colorful array, all made with high-quality ingredients such as shrimp and eel.

Among them, "Chouchin," which is an immature chicken egg, is a rare and highly valued item that can only be found at high-end yakitori shops and Japanese restaurants.

When you bite into it, you will feel a popping texture and the creamy, rich flavor of the "Chochin" will melt in your mouth.
It pairs perfectly with the sweet and spicy miso-flavored minced meat, and when combined with Ariake nori seaweed and wasabi, it has a refined flavor.
Another unique dish worth mentioning is the "Genova Somen," which makes use of Ariyoshi's experience as an Italian chef.
This menu is perfect for the coming season, with soft somen noodles intertwined with fragrant basil sauce and the delicious flavor of salmon roe.

The moment you open the lid of the "Spicy Fish Eggs and Salted Mackerel Rice Cooked in a Clay Pot," a fragrant aroma rises up along with the steam.

The special rice used is "Hitomebore" from Kuju, Oita Prefecture, which won the highest award of Special A at a rice competition.
The rice is topped with fatty grilled Norwegian mackerel and about two pieces of Spicy Fish Eggs, making for a truly luxurious clay pot rice dish.
Use a rice spoon to loosen the ingredients and mix well to incorporate air before enjoying.

The strong flavor of the grilled mackerel and the mild spiciness of Spicy Fish Eggs match perfectly with the moistly cooked rice, making this dish so delicious that you won't be able to stop eating it.
After enjoying one or two bowls of rice, we recommend pouring the homemade "ochazuke-specific" broth over it to enjoy it even more.
The delicious flavors of the mackerel and Spicy Fish Eggs melt into the fragrant bonito stock, and you'll find yourself shoveling the pieces into your mouth with gusto.

The serving of rice is 1.5 gou per person, or about 3 to 4 bowls, so it's quite filling, but you can make any leftover rice balls to take home.

After the meal, you will also be served delicious Japanese sweets and tea.
The soft and chewy Shingen Mochi is available in two flavors: "Brown Sugar Soybean Flour" and "Matcha Condensed Milk."

The "Brown Sugar Kinako" that I chose that day is a very satisfying dessert with an exquisite combination of the fragrant flavor of kinako and the rich sweetness of brown sugar syrup.
In the evenings, in addition to the lunch menu, they also offer a la carte dishes such as tempura, making them suitable for a wide range of occasions, from a satisfying lunch to a drinking party.
