[Mojiko Cafe] Enjoy carefully selected tea and sweets in a traditional Japanese house built over 120 years ago (Kitakyushu City)

Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.

This time, we will introduce a wonderful old-style Japanese-style cafe that opened in the Mojiko area in April 2025.

Built over 120 years ago! A traditional Japanese cafe with a great atmosphere: "Teas & Tisanes gallery yuen"(Maruyama, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City)

Teas & Tisanes gallery yuen~KissaGotuyu~openedonApril 29,2025in the Maruyama area, located on the mountain side of Mojiko Port, about a five-minute drive from JRMojiko Station.

126-year-old cafe is located in a residential areaand is open only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The owner spent four years planning this place, and it's a place filled with many dreams.This

When you enter the store, you'll find a picturesque space where the good old and the new blend together.

You can enjoy looking at a wide variety of antiques, from Japanese antiques to Chinese antiques from the Qing Dynasty, Joseon Dynasty ware, and European antiques. The antiques are also for sale!

The seats overlooking the garden full of greenery are special seats. The beautiful greenery is soothing.

The counter seats are also very stylish, making it a great place to drop in by yourself.

The tables and chairs are all different, so be sure to choose a seat that suits you.

The owner originally ran a clothing store in the Uomachi area of Kitakyushu City, and the shop also has a gallery where clothes, artists' works, and miscellaneous goods are displayed and sold.

At"Teas & Tisanes Gallery Yuen-CafeTuyu-," you can enjoysweets made with carefully selected ingredients starting from 275yen, and drinks centered around Taiwanese and Chinese teas starting from 605 yen.

There are also set menus such as the "SpringSet(Today's dessert +drink)" (1,320 yen), "Morning DewSet(Today's cold dessert + drink)" (1,320 yen), and "Water RippleSet(Seasonal fruit nectar +drink)" (1,485 yen).

This time, I splurged a little and orderedthe "BudSet(seasonal fruit bean paste syrup + today's cold dessert +today's dessert +drink)" (2,255 yen) andthe "MirageSet(seasonal fruit bean paste syrup + today's cold dessert +drink)" (2,035 yen).

The "TsubomiSet"comes withseasonal fruit bean paste, today's cold dessert,today's dessert, and a drink.

The sweets generally change weekly. There are about15types of hot and iced drinks, and for an additional 110 yenyou can also choose"Botanical tea(6 types)".

By the way, the sweets are apparently sourced from places such as Nikogusa, a traditional Japanese cafe in Nogata City, and cafe a table in Tobata.

On the day of our visit, we had a choice of three "Today's Sweets": "Anmitsu", "Oume", and "Ironomi".

This time I chose "Ironomi," a sweet made with bean paste and chocolate, made with pesticide-free lemons from Fukuoka Prefecture and roasted green tea from "Kusunomorido" in Ukiha City. ​I was impressed by its deep flavor.

"Seasonal Fruit Anmitsu" is a dish created by "Wasou," a tea confectionery shop that uses carefully selected seasonal fruits, ingredients, wild herbs, etc. The agar is made with Chinese tea and herb syrup to go with the seasonal fruit compote.

It was also served with shiratama (rice flour dumplings) and bean paste, and I was impressed by its elegant flavor.

For "Today's Cold Dessert,"you could choose from "Soy Milk Frozen Oolong Tea Ice Cream" (single item price500yen)or "Botanical TeaMorning Mist and Strawberry Sorbet" (single item price500 yen).

The photo shows "Botanical Tea Morning Mist and Strawberry Sorbet," a dish created by Tobata cafe "cafe a table" using botanical teas that go well with seasonal fruits.

It is topped with edible marigold flowers, making it look very gorgeous!

It was a wonderful combination of the refreshing flavor of rosemary and the fresh taste of strawberries.

For the drink in the set, I ordered the beautiful "Craft Flower Tea" (single item price550 yen), which features flowers gradually opening up.

With its gorgeous aroma and elegant taste, it was a delicious dish that was both comforting and soothing.

The "MirageSet"includes seasonal fruit bean paste, today's cold dessert, and a drink.
