This time, we will introduce you to a cafe where you can enjoy your favorite idol afternoon tea even if you are alone.

This time we visited Cafe Emerald, which is a two-minute walk from Yakuin-Odori Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line.

This shop opened in 2023 with the idea that "traditional coffee shops are becoming less and less common, so we wanted to create a coffee shop that is modern while still allowing you to enjoy a traditional atmosphere."

The name of the shop is said to come from a painting by Erte called "Emerald Eyes."
The interior of the store has a stylish atmosphere, with several paintings on display and chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings.
Recommended menus for your favorite idols
This cafe serves traditional British sweets and tea. In addition to sweets, they also have light lunch menu items such as "European-style black beef curry" (1,300 yen with salad) and "Authentic beef stew" (1,500 yen with salad and bread).

Afternoon tea
First of all, the most popular dish since the shop opened is the "Afternoon Tea" (3,300 yen per person). I'm happy that even if you're alone you can easily order it.
You can choose the color of the flowers on top of the stand, so if you choose the color of your favorite member, it's perfect for your idol activities! I was happy that a welcome drink was included. On this day, it was a pomegranate drink. It was sweet and sour and delicious.

The top shelf is for dessert. There are three types, which change depending on the season and the day.
On this day, the menu consisted of strawberry macarons, lemon tart, and matcha terrine.

The bottom shelf has five types of savory dishes, all handmade in the store.
On this day, we had roast beef, shepherd's pie, two kinds of sandwiches, scones, and chicken ham. The roast beef was thick and filling, and the shepherd's pie was warm and very satisfying.

There's also an omelette on a separate plate! This is semi-frozen, so if you eat it straight away it has the texture of an ice cream cake, but if you let it sit for a while it becomes fluffy! It's a dessert you can enjoy twice.

A pot of tea is included (enough for two cups). You can choose from a variety of tea leaves, which is nice.
They stock a wide range of teas, from classics to branded blends, so that customers can casually try a variety of tea leaves. They also regularly stock seasonal and new tea leaves.
We have staff members who are certified tea sommeliers, so if you have any questions, they will be happy to help you.
This time, I chose "Nilgiri," which has less astringency and is easy to drink.

Dessert Plate
The second item is this "Dessert Plate" (1,500 yen. Drinks are not included). The transparent box is filled with colorful flowers.

The boxes are available in nine different colours: pink, red, blue, green, orange & yellow, white & black, light blue, red & pink, and purple.
You can definitely reserve your favorite color♡
There were six types of desserts. On this day, they were (clockwise from the top left) matcha terrine, lemon tart, macaroon, omelette, brownie, and strawberry tart.
