Hello. I'm Honosuke, a cafe hopper mainly in Fukuoka and Kitakyushu.
This time, we will introduce a coffee shop located in Chiyo, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.
Gluten-free sweets are also popular! GOAT day coffee shop, a specialty home-roasted coffee shop (Chiyo, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)
GOAT day coffee shop is a 5-minute walk from Chiyo-Kenchoguchi Station on the Hakozaki subway line. It is a shop where you can enjoy home-roasted coffee and homemade gluten-free sweets.
It's located in a back alley off the main road, so even though it's close to the station, it feels like a hideaway! It's within walking distance (about 15 minutes) from not only the subway but also JR Yoshizuka Station. There is no parking lot, so if you come by car, please use the nearby paid parking lot.
Look for the word "COFFEE" above the door!

The owner, Mr. Matsunaga, retired from his job in education and then trained at Brewer's Coffee Banjiro in Kamikawabata-cho, Hakata Ward and cafe KIKUYA in Nakasu, Hakata Ward, before opening the shop in 2023.
The opening date is May 10th, in reference to the store's name, "GOAT (510) day."
By the way, the origin of "GOAT" is,
・The meaning of "goat" in English → There is a theory that goats were the first to discover coffee
・Greatest Of All Time (meaning the greatest of all time) → A word used in the basketball community, the owner's favorite sport
The name was chosen because it is a combination of two words that refer to both coffee and basketball.
When you enter the restaurant, you first order and pay before taking a seat.

The interior of the restaurant, which was renovated from an old house, still retains the original windows, pillars, and other elements, creating a simple, slightly retro atmosphere that is lovely! There are both table seats and counter seats.

Seriously delicious♡Healthy sweets
First, let's start with the sweets that you should definitely try.
This is the standard menu item, "Gentle Sweet Cane Sugar Pudding" (450 yen).

As its name suggests, this simple dish has a gentle sweetness and allows you to fully enjoy the deliciousness of eggs.
It's not too hard, not too soft, and has a very smooth texture.
A popular menu item since the shop opened is the "Gluten-free Cream Cheese and Mascarpone Fresh Cheesecake" (450 yen). It is only available on an irregular basis, so you're lucky if you come across it!

Made without flour or fresh cream, it is not too sweet and has a moist, melt-in-your-mouth texture, allowing you to enjoy the rich flavor of cheese.
The "Basque Cheesecake", which comes in a variety of seasonal flavors such as "White Chocolate and Yame Matcha" and "Roasted Sweet Potato and Sweet Potato", is also very popular! The photo shows the "White Chocolate Basque Cheesecake" (580 yen) that was available in January 2025 and during the White Day period.

The milky taste of the white chocolate and the rich taste of two types of cheese (cream cheese and mascarpone) are a perfect match!
The tip is soft and gooey, and as you eat it, it becomes moist and smooth. It was very delicious. It's a little while away, but it's scheduled to reappear in January 2026.
Recommended drinks to go with sweets
The owner's carefully roasted coffee goes perfectly with any of the sweets!
First up is the "Iced Coffee" (520 yen). This is GOAT Day Coffee Shop's original cold brew (low temperature extraction) blended coffee.

It has a gorgeous aroma and a pleasant acidity, making it easy to drink! In addition to this blend, they will be adding 2-3 more iced coffee varieties to their menu during the summer.
Next is "Cafe Latte (HOT)" (550 yen).

The rich espresso combined with creamy milk gave it a rich and mellow flavor. The temperature was just right and it was delicious.
Drinks are available for take-out! Coffee beans and drip coffee bags are also available for purchase. You can enjoy delicious coffee at home.
I was able to spend a relaxing time in the store, where the aroma of coffee filled the air.
