This time, we will introduce the "Tonteki Set Meal", which is impressive in both thickness and volume.

Opening in January 2025! "Tontekiya Yamada Loin" (Hakata Station South, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City) is known for its one-of-a-kind "pork steak."

"Tontekiya Yamada Roast" is located about a 7-minute drive from the Chikushi Exit of JR Hakata Station. It opened on January 24, 2025 on the first floor of a building halfway between Fukuoka City Haruzumi Elementary School and Sanno Park.

This is a sister store of the popular tonkatsu restaurant in Kitakyushu, "Aged Tonkatsu Restaurant Kobuta-san ga Koronda."

It is only open during lunch hours from 11:30 to 14:30, and its signature dish is the "Tonteki Set Meal"! Although it has only just opened, it has already become a popular restaurant with a steady stream of customers.

The double-layered pork steak set meal is a shocking amount!

The menu includes the "Tonteki Teishoku" (small rice 1,350 yen, medium rice 1,400 yen, large rice 1,500 yen) and the "Shogayaki Teishoku" (small rice 1,150 yen, medium rice 1,200 yen, large rice 1,300 yen / available from 1pm on weekdays, always available on weekends and holidays). There is also a "Double Tonteki Teishoku" with two layers of tonteki.

You can also choose "fat-free" tonteki.

This time I ordered the "Double Tonteki Set Meal (large rice)" (2,400 yen).

Two 200g pieces of pork steak made from carefully selected domestic pork shoulder loin are served with plenty of shredded cabbage and egg salad.

The tonteki is very thick and filling! With its meaty texture, you can enjoy the delicious pork flavor to the fullest.

The fat is easy to bite into and has just the right amount of sweetness.

The pork is well seasoned, but we recommend mixing it thoroughly with the soy sauce-based sauce at the bottom of the plate.

What's more, if you mix an egg into the sauce and eat it together with the pork steak, it's surprisingly delicious!

Also pay attention to the rice and miso soup that come with the set.

The rice is from Kitakyushu, and the miso is from Konishi Miso, a company with over 100 years of history in Fukuchi Town. The miso soup was very elegant and fragrant.
