Directly connected to Hakata Station, yet a hidden gem! Luxurious afternoon tea at a stylish cafe

This time, we will introduce afternoon tea that you can enjoy at Hakata Station.

Directly connected to Hakata Station! "Open to the public" wedding venue cafe lounge "TIME NEST" (Hakataeki Chuo-gai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

THE STRINGS HAKATA is a wedding venue located on the 11th floor of KITTE Hakata, directly connected to JR Hakata Station.

The cafe lounge inside is called "TIME NEST," which we will introduce to you today. It is a wonderful space that anyone can use on days when weddings are not being held (*Basically it is usually open on weekdays except Tuesdays, but please check with the store for opening days and hours).

Here you can enjoy a special afternoon tea that changes with the seasons (reservations must be made the day before), sweets, drinks, etc. *No reservation required if you are only interested in sweets or drinks.

The current afternoon tea is the second collaboration with the honey beauty brand "HACCI", "HONEY STRAWBERRY Afternoon Tea" (from 5,500 yen per person *varies depending on the day of the week and whether or not options are included). It is available for a limited time only from Saturday, January 4th to Friday, March 14th, 2025, and is available in three reservation-only sessions from 12:00, 15:00, and 17:00.

By the way, this afternoon tea can be enjoyed at five hotels and wedding halls in five cities across the country, including TIME NEST.

Seats can be used for two hours (last order 1.5 hours) and include all-you-can-drink tea, coffee, soft drinks and a variety of other drinks.

The standard plan (from 5,500 yen per person) includes one cup of tea from Mariage Freres, a long-established French tea brand. There are several other plans available, such as an all-you-can-drink Mariage Freres plan (from 6,000 yen per person), a plan with a speciality dessert (from 7,000 yen per person), and a plan with all-you-can-drink Mariage Freres + a speciality dessert (from 7,500 yen per person).

Enjoy "HONEY STRAWBERRY Afternoon Tea"♡

The theme of "HONEY STRAWBERRY Afternoon Tea" is "the blessings of honeybees." The amount of honey that one honeybee can collect in its entire life is only a teaspoon.

We will introduce the contents of the afternoon tea, including sweets carefully created by our in-house pastry chef using this ``blessing of bees.''

There are six kinds of sweets on the stand

The main three-tiered stand features six types of sweets made with strawberries and honey. Each sweet uses four different types of HACCI honey.

The top tier features two flavors: the "Strawberry Marinated in Hungarian Acacia Honey Equipped," which has an irresistible fresh strawberry flavor, and the light and smooth "Strawberry Tartlet with Mexican Orange Honey Cream."

The middle shelf features two types of sweets: "Chocolate mousse with Spanish lavender honey" and "Hungarian acacia honey and strawberry vol-au-vent."

The chocolate mousse is a special item that the pastry chef created after much trial and error, as the chocolate flavor was inevitably overpowered by the honey. I was impressed by the gentle flavor that allowed me to taste both the chocolate and honey.

The bottom tier contains "Berry Mousse - Spanish Lavender Honey" and Strawberry Puree Jelly" and "The Life of a Bee - Mexican Orange Honey," a dessert that represents the amount of honey that one honeybee can collect in its lifetime (one teaspoon).

All of them were incredibly delicious and you could really feel the skill of the pastry chef! The luxurious appearance was also really uplifting.

By the way, if you let them know when you make your reservation (up to the day before), you can change this three-tiered stand to a "message plate" for free. This is also recommended for when you want to surprise someone.

Scone Condiments

There are two types of scones: "Milk" and "Strawberry Raspberry". There are three types of condiments: "Salted Clotted Cream", "Strawberry Jam", and "Orange Marmalade". *The honey shown in the photo (top right of the plate below) is not usually included. This time, it was kindly provided.

My favorite is the patissier's original "Salted Clotted Cream". I had previously tried it at a different themed afternoon tea and was impressed by the taste. Even before I came here, I was looking forward to trying it again.

The scones were moist yet light, and the "Strawberry Raspberry" had a gentle flavor with a rich berry taste.

Three types of savory

The savory dishes that use honey are: Cauliflower and berry mousse with Mexican orange honey; Chicken and porcini mushroom ballotine with Spanish lavender honey and mustard sauce; and Cheese and beetroot petit quiche with Hungarian acacia honey.

Everything was perfectly seasoned and everything I ate was delicious.

Add options to make your afternoon tea even more luxurious!

Although I was completely satisfied with what I had thus far, I decided to take the opportunity to add the optional "HACCI Special Drink" and "Specialty Dessert" to the menu.

First up is the specialty dessert "Beauty Honey Hyaluronic Acid Honey Berry Parfum Strawberry and Matcha Millefeuille" (1,500 yen each). You'll be captivated by its cute and grown-up look.

From the bottom of the glass, it consists of fresh strawberries marinated in raspberry and strawberry puree, strawberry sorbet, a mesh-like dough kneaded with honey, gold leaf, flowers, and a mille-feuille on top of the glass. It's very filling! The mille-feuille is made with matcha and white chocolate to give it a rich flavor.

The HACCI special drink "Beauty Drink with Honey Snow" (1,500 yen) is a beauty drink made with cranberries and lactic acid bacteria! The beautiful gradation is also mesmerizing.

Another nice bonus is that when you order a specialty dessert and a special drink, you will receive a limited quantity of "HACCI original gift" of "Honey Collagen & Hand Cream Mademoiselle Hacchi 12g" on a first-come, first-served basis.
