[Around Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine] Breakfast available too! A popular bakery with an excellent selection worth visiting

Hello! I'm Trip Camera and I love going out with my camera.

This time, we will introduce some stylish bakeries that will satisfy both your stomach and your heart, and are a must-see when visiting Dazaifu.

Not only is it delicious! A charming bakery that will make you want to return: "Loop a Bread" (Dazaifu City)

Loop a Bread is a bakery located in the cooperative facility NISHIKIMACHI, about a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station and one block from the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

This shop was opened in February 2023 by Futami Kazutoshi, who is originally from the nationally known popular Fukuoka City shop Panstock.

The same facility also houses the cafe "ton" and "Sushi Hirano."

Freshly baked bread is lined up on a large wooden counter. There is a wide variety of breads, from hard breads like baguettes to savory breads and sweet breads.

New dishes using seasonal ingredients are introduced each season, so there's something to look forward to every time you visit.

The price cards have detailed descriptions of the types of bread, and there are samples available, so you're sure to want to buy everything.

When we spoke to customers, many of them were fans, saying things like, "Once I tried it, it was delicious and I keep coming back," and "I always check the store's Instagram for new products and come back to buy them." It's no wonder it's so popular.

The shop is open from 9:00 to 17:00, but it is not uncommon for the bread to sell out early and the shop to close.

On the day I visited, the store was always bustling with customers.

Since you can reserve bread, we recommend choosing your bread first in the morning before heading to visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

In addition to the delicious bread, the smiles and greetings of the staff are wonderful. It's a warm and charming place that will make you want to come back again and again.

Must-try breads recommended by our staff!

The most popular item at the shop is the "Mentaiko France" (450 yen), a baguette generously spread with homemade mentaiko butter.

The second most popular item is the "Fresh Donut" (300 yen), which has a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Apparently, they often sell out by mid-morning on some days. They come in three flavors: plain, chocolate, and red bean paste.

Aside from these two must-haves, we asked about other must-have products for this time of year. The staff member said, "I actually recommend all of them," but they picked out three breads.

First up is French toast (250 yen).

The popular "Pain au Lait Bread" is baked after being dipped in a special French liquid containing fresh cream, mascarpone cheese, and other ingredients.

Of course, you can eat it warm, but it's also delicious chilled in the refrigerator this time of year!

The second one is "Croque Monsieur with Corn and Tuna Mayo Salad" (650 yen).

Homemade tuna mayonnaise and bacon sandwiched in a campagne bread, topped with béjamel, cheese, and seasonal sweet corn, then baked.

Re-baking it will melt the bechamel sauce and cheese, making it even more delicious!

The third dish is the "Refreshing Pork Shabu-Shabu Sandwich with Homemade Sesame Sauce" (400 yen), which is also recommended by the owner, Futami.

The rich sesame sauce made with soy sauce koji and the moist pork shabu-shabu are perfectly balanced!

This light and easy-to-eat sandwich allows you to eat both meat and vegetables, making it a good choice for preventing summer fatigue.

Perfect for breakfast! You can also eat in at the cafe next door, "ton"!

In fact, you can eat bread from Loop a Bread at the adjacent cafe, ton, from 9:30 to 11:00!

Choose your bread at "Loop a Bread" and tell the staff you'd like to eat in, and they'll put the bread on your tray. At "ton," you must order one drink. Once you're done, return the tray to "Loop a Bread."

It's one of the few places in the Dazaifu area where you can enjoy breakfast, so it's definitely worth remembering!

We encourage everyone to go out and find your favorite bread. (Text by trip camera)
