It's like a Spicy Fish Eggs theme park! Yamaya Factory Terrace (Sasaguri-machi, Kasuya-gun) where you can enjoy factory tours, restaurants, and markets
Yamaya Factory Terrace is located about 6 minutes by car from the Kyushu Expressway Fukuoka IC.
The "Yamaya" headquarters and factory, previously located in Matsushima, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, will relocate to Sasaguri-machi, Kasuya-gun in April 2023. This "interactive facility for enjoying Spicy Fish Eggs" opened in September 2023 adjacent to the headquarters and new factory.

Immediately upon entering the second floor entrance you will see a bright red sofa designed to look like Spicy Fish Eggs. It's the perfect photo spot!

The words "Yamaya," "Mentaiko," and "KYUSHU" are hidden in the illustrations on the wall next to it. It might be fun to try looking for them while you wait at the restaurant.

There is a video corner on the left side of the building. Here you can learn about the history of Spicy Fish Eggs at "Yamaya" and the process of how Spicy Fish Eggs is made. You can also see the townscape of Sasaguri from the window, which is especially pleasant on sunny days.

The extremely popular Spicy Fish Eggs can-eat mentaiko buffet set is available from 11:00 to 15:00. When you order a set meal, you can freely enjoy Spicy Fish Eggs, rice, miso soup, and salad in a buffet style.

The highlight is the "Yasohachi-ho Mentaiko" (300g 1,680 yen), which can only be purchased here and is sold directly from the factory. This is freshly made Spicy Fish Eggs that is on display in the store just 88 steps from the factory. It has never been frozen after being pickled, so the flavor is exceptional.
