[Yakuin area] Authentic Chinese lunch with all items under 1,000 yen! Affordable new restaurant (Fukuoka City)

This time, we will introduce affordable lunch options at a new restaurant in Shirokane, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, recommended for Chinese food lovers.

All lunch items are under 1,000 yen! Chinese food bar "Panda Shoten" (Shirokane, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) opening in October 2024

Panda Shoten opened in October 2024. It is located in a back alley in Shirokane 1-chome, about a 9-minute walk from Yakuin Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line and Nishitetsu Line, and is open twice a day, for lunch and dinner.

The interior of the restaurant is characterized by its warm wooden interior and has a calming atmosphere. The counter seats are the main feature, and the space is simple yet comfortable. The open kitchen allows you to enjoy watching the food being prepared.

There is also a table seating for three by the window, allowing you to spend a more relaxing time looking out at the outside.

The photo below is the lunch menu for that day. It is roughly divided into "set meals" and "noodles", and there is a wide variety of dishes, from standard menu items such as "Mapo Tofu Set Meal" (850 yen) and "Liver and Leek Set Meal" (800 yen) to more unusual dishes such as "Black Pork Cartilage Tamagoyaki Rice Set Meal" (800 yen) and "Seafood Thick Noodles" (1,000 yen).

All dishes are reasonably priced at under 1,000 yen, and another great thing about them is that you can change or add to your order with "extra large serving of rice" (+50 yen), "extra large serving of noodles" (+120 yen), or "half-fried rice" (+150 to 230 yen)!

Now, let me introduce the menu we had this time.

The special chili sauce is addictive! "Chili Shrimp Set Meal" goes great with rice

First up is the "Chili Shrimp Set Meal" (900 yen). The set meal comes with rice, vegetables, and soup. The soup is a simple egg soup that is light and easy to drink.

The chili shrimp is topped with plenty of chili sauce, which is sure to whet your appetite...!

The special chili sauce has a tingling sensation on the tip of your tongue, bringing out the deliciousness of the shrimp even more. Another unique feature is the inclusion of lotus root, which adds a nice crunchy texture. This dish is especially recommended for those who like spicy food, and goes well with rice.

Warms you to the core! "Rich Black Sesame Dandan Noodles" with plenty of black sesame

Next up is the popular "Rich Black Sesame Dandan Noodles" (950 yen). You can tell at a glance that it contains a lot of black sesame. The soup, made with an original spice blend, is fragrant, rich, creamy, and spicy!

The thick noodles mix well with the soup, making for a rich and satisfying dish that is sure to be especially delicious during the cold seasons.

I also ordered the "Half Fried Rice" (230 yen). First of all, I was surprised at how much it was for a "half" fried rice. It was simple yet perfectly salted, with a well-balanced flavor. It was also delicious when eaten with the tantanmen soup.

During dinner hours, you can enjoy a variety of Chinese dishes along with alcoholic drinks. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place for a date.
