"Wagyu Mentaiko Kagura Dazaifu Branch" is located about a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station. The building is 100 years old and has been renovated to have a modern Japanese exterior.

The signature dish is the "Wagyu Mentaiko Gozen" which uses domestic Wagyu beef and Spicy Fish Eggs from "Fukuya" in a luxurious manner. It is so popular that there is a line at lunchtime.

When queuing, you will need to get a numbered ticket from the machine next to the entrance and wait your turn.

The interior of the restaurant is a stylish space with walls made of Hakata-style fences. You can relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the approach to the shrine.

The delicious flavor of Japanese black beef and Spicy Fish Eggs are a perfect match! "Wagyu Mentaiko Gozen"

First, let's start with the signature dish, "Wagyu Mentaiko Gozen" (regular size 2,200 yen, extra large size 2,600 yen).

For an additional 400 yen you can add extra wagyu beef, and for an additional 600 yen you can add a drink and the "Recommended Set" which is available in limited quantities. You can choose from three sets: "Tempura 3-piece Set", "Premium Spicy Fish Eggs Set", and "Extra Wagyu Beef Set".

The meal arrives wrapped in a lid made of Okawa Kumiko, a craft from Fukuoka with a history of about 300 years. The moment the staff removes the wrapping is the perfect photo opportunity!

The dish in the foreground of the photo is the "Wagyu Mentaiko Gozen." It is topped with a thin egg, sweet and spicy black wagyu beef, a generous piece of "Fukuya" Spicy Fish Eggs, and plenty of nori seaweed from the Ariake Sea. The colors and presentation are so beautiful that it's almost a shame to eat it!

The Wagyu beef is tender and sweet, and the crunchy texture and saltiness of the mentaiko create a delicious harmony...! The amount of Spicy Fish Eggs is also great, allowing you to enjoy it to your heart's content.

A hearty and filling meal! "Mentaiko Sammai Gozen"

If you want to enjoy Spicy Fish Eggs to the fullest, try the "Mentai Sanmi Gozen" (regular size 1,800 yen, extra large size 2,200 yen). On top of rice topped with Spicy Fish Eggs furikake, it comes with a generous serving of Spicy Fish Eggs, soft-boiled eggs, chikuwa (fish cake), seaweed tempura, and more.

There's even Spicy Fish Eggs inside the chikuwa, making it so luxurious! The smoothness of the soft-boiled egg goes really well with Spicy Fish Eggs.
