[Hakata Station souvenirs] Limited edition items too! A nationally popular apple sweets shop (Fukuoka/Hakata Daitos)

Hakata Daitos is a commercial facility located on the Chikushi side of JR Hakata Station. Miyagemon Market, located on the first floor and offering a wide range of Hakata souvenirs from classics to the latest trends, is undergoing major renovation for the first time in 15 years. From autumn 2024 to summer 2025, 18 stores will be newly opened and renovated (4 new stores, 14 renovated stores).

As the first step, we would like to introduce "Apple and Butter," which reopened on November 12, 2024.

"Apple and Butter. Hakata Daito Store" (Hakata Station Central Street, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City) offers a selection of sweets that capture the deliciousness of mellow apples and butter.

As the name suggests, Ringo to Butter uses plenty of carefully selected apples and butter to bring out the best in the sweets. This popular store has branches in Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka. In Fukuoka, there are three stores: the Hakata Daitos store, the Fukuoka Airport store, and the LaLaport Fukuoka store.

The newly renovated Hakata Daitos store has a horizontal design that makes it easier to see the products and makes shopping a more comfortable space.

"Hakata Daito Store" Limited Edition Items! Picking out must-buy products

The most popular item is the "Tarte Tatin" (2,376 yen). Apparently, the LaLaport Fukuoka store sold 2,500 of them in just one month!

Almond cream is squeezed onto flaky pie crust, then carefully stewed apples are placed on top and baked.

It's delicious as is, but if you warm it up in a 180℃ oven for about 3 minutes, you can really enjoy the crispy texture of the pie crust and it's absolutely delicious! The sweetness and aroma of the apples will fill your mouth.

We also recommend the limited edition "Mini Tatin" (648 yen each), which is only available at the "Hakata Daito Store" and "Yokohama Store." Since it's a mini size, it would be great as a snack to eat on the Shinkansen.

This is the "Creamy Cheesecake (Cup)" (561 yen), a smooth cheesecake with stewed apples underneath. This is also the perfect size for a snack!

The staff's recommended "Apple Butter Tart" (388 yen) is a cookie tart made with vanilla-scented diced apples and grated apple dough, then baked. It's said to go perfectly with black tea.

There is also the "Butter Apple Pie" (648 yen), a crunchy pie crust filled with flavorful apples stewed in butter and vanilla.

A recommended product that can be stored at room temperature and carried around is the "Baumkuchen" (2,376 yen). The dough is kneaded with almond powder, has a buttery flavor that melts in your mouth, and is coated with apple nappage.

Assorted items are also available, such as the "3-item Gift Set" (S size 2,592 yen, M size 3,888 yen, L size 5,778 yen) which includes "Financiers" with grated apple kneaded into the dough, "Cookies" sandwiched with chocolate made with apples, and "Chocolate Tart" with a butter-scented apple-shaped tart dough filled with apple chocolate and white chocolate.

COBACO series and collaboration products with sister stores are also attracting attention

Also check out the "COBACO" series (2 financiers for 410 yen, 3 cookies for 442 yen, 2 chocolate tarts for 637 yen), which contains small quantities of each of the three popular sweets in the "3-piece Gift Set" mentioned above, packaged in stylish craft paper. They make the perfect little present.
