[Around Hakata Station] Private rooms available, lunch from 1,300 yen! A must-try restaurant with golden seafood bowls (Fukuoka City)
Hello. I'm Ucchi, and I turn into a girl when I see something delicious.
This time, we will introduce a restaurant where you can enjoy Kyushu's delicacies, located about a 7-minute walk from the Chikushi Exit of JR Hakata Station. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for a variety of occasions.
"Kyushu no Sake to Sakana Hakata Mata" (Hakata Station East, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City) where you can enjoy creative cuisine made with plenty of Kyushu ingredients
Kyushu Sake and Snacks Hakata Mata opened in June 2024 on the first floor of TERASO, a building located east of Hakata Station in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, which houses a variety of restaurants including Hassenkaku.
This Japanese izakaya restaurant serves creative dishes made with ingredients from all over Kyushu for both lunch and dinner.
The restaurant has table seating, counter seats where you can watch the chefs at work, and private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables, with a total of about 100 seats.
There are also completely private rooms available, making it suitable for a variety of occasions, including business occasions such as entertaining guests and meetings, as well as get-togethers and celebrations.
Enjoy a luxurious feeling! Lunch menu starting from 1,300 yen
This time, I visited during lunch time from 11:30 to 14:00 (※Lunch is not available on days before holidays and on public holidays).
There is a wide variety of dishes available, including the "Weekly Set Meal" (1,300 yen) only available on weekdays, "Stewed Hamburger Steak and Chicken Nanban Set Meal" (1,600 yen), "Tempura Sashimi Set Meal" (1,700 yen), "Red Sea Bream and Summer Mackerel Ochazuke Set Meal" (2,500 yen), "Local Cuisine Hakata-style Motsunabe Set Meal" (3,000 yen), "Freshly Prepared Live Squid Set Meal" (3,400 yen), and "Morning Sushi Set Meal" (regular 2,500 yen - premium 5,500 yen). There is also a "Children's Set Meal" (1,000 yen).
By the way, the "Live Sashimi of Genkai Sea Spear Squid" (from 1,590 yen per 100g) which can be ordered as a single dish during lunchtime is a popular menu item at this restaurant both day and night (from 2,079 yen per 100g at night). After the order is placed, the squid is taken out of the tank and prepared for you.
My family ordered the "Mata Famous Golden Seafood Bowl" (2,000 yen), the "Sashimi Set Meal" (1,500 yen), and the "Children's Set Meal" (1,000 yen), so I'll report on it right away.
A golden bowl filled with seasonal seafood! "The famous Golden Seafood Bowl"
The "Specialty Golden Seafood Bowl" (2,000 yen) is a set that includes a seafood bowl, simmered dish, squid shumai, Spicy Fish Eggs, miso soup, small side dishes, pickles, chawanmushi, and dessert.
The golden container is what really stands out. I opened the lid with a pounding heart, and...
Wow! A gorgeous seafood bowl!
On top of the rice is a pile of seasonal seafood, including sea urchin, salmon roe, tuna, salmon, horse mackerel, and sea bream. If you look closely, you can see that it is also topped with gold flakes.
The seafood is delivered every morning from markets and fishing ports near Fukuoka City, so it's super fresh! Everything is plump and delicious.
We poured the sesame sauce that came with it on top, and it was so delicious I can't put it into words. Once you try it, you'll be hooked.
The simmered dishes and chawanmushi have a deep flavor that shows they have been carefully prepared. The rich red miso soup with fish stock and wakame seaweed was also so delicious that I wanted seconds.
If you like sashimi, this is it! "Sashimi Gozen"
The "Sashimi Gozen" (1,500 yen) comes with five types of sashimi, simmered dishes, squid shumai, Spicy Fish Eggs, rice, miso soup, small side dishes, pickles, and chawanmushi.
The sashimi on this day was carefully selected seasonal fish, including salmon, tuna, sea bream, horse mackerel, and yellowtail. Just like the seafood bowl, it was very fresh!
This is a must-try meal for those who like sashimi.
"Children's set meal" with a basket of children's favorite foods
The "Children's Set Meal" (1,000 yen) includes fried shrimp, hamburger steak, fried chicken, French fries, salad, egg roll, potato salad, three rice balls, and dessert. It was served in a basket and looked so luxurious! The menu lineup and the appearance of the meal got my child excited.
Tempura and other fried foods are also popular at "Kyushu no Sake to Sakana Hakata Mata." The fried shrimp is plump and thick, and makes a great crunching sound every time you bite into it, so children seem to be delighted with it.
The other dishes were all my kids' favorites and they ate them up.
In the evening, there are over 90 dishes on the menu, including sashimi and motsunabe.
It's perfect for a New Year's party, a meal with an old friend who's back home for the first time in a while, or a girls' get-together. Please come and visit. (Text by Ucchi)
