A 5-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station! A popular cafe that serves alcohol and exquisite sweets until midnight (Fukuoka City)

Hello! This is the ARNE student editorial team.

This time, two members from Seinan Gakuin University (Takasu and Nagao) went to a night cafe in Imaizumi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.

Only open at night! Cafe "tatamiser" (Imaizumi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) where you can enjoy drinks and sweets until midnight

Tatamiser is located about a 3-minute walk from the south exit of Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and about a 5-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line.

This shop, tucked away in a narrow alley, is attracting attention, especially from the younger generation.

It is open only in the evenings, from 19:30 on Tuesdays to Fridays and from 19:00 on Saturdays, closing at midnight on both days (closed on Mondays and Sundays).

Going to a cafe at night is a great way to lose track of time. Enjoying a drink at a cafe is also special and appealing.

The store's name, "tatamiser," is a French coined word used by locals to mean "living on tatami mats" or "incorporating a Japanese-style interior style." The store was opened with the hope that customers would enjoy the "unique combination" of French sweets and Japanese-style drinks.

There are tables, sofa seats, and counter seats available, and the restaurant can accommodate up to 20 people.

The lighting was soft and bright throughout, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

On Saturdays, the restaurant is often fully booked all day. On weekdays, it gets crowded between 9:00pm and 10:00pm, but it is relatively empty after opening around 7:00pm and after 11:00pm, which are good times to visit. Reservations cannot be made on any day of the week.

Satisfy both alcohol lovers and non-alcohol lovers! Enjoy recommended drinks and sweets

This shop's signature menu item is "sake and sweets." The owner, who is a big fan of alcohol, has carefully selected a wide variety of Japanese and Western drinks.

The recommended drink is "Sake" (720 yen per glass), but they also have Western alcoholic drinks such as "Wine" (680 yen per glass) and "Yuzu Ginger" (580 yen). Many customers also order non-alcoholic drinks such as "Sencha" (480 yen) and "Houjicha" (450 yen).

The sweets on offer include terrine, catalana, cassata, tiramisu, chocolate gateau, and Mont Blanc, priced from 520 yen to 880 yen. All are handmade by the owner.

In addition to the cost of drinks and sweets, there is a 300 yen cover charge per person.

This time, I ordered the recommended menu item that the restaurant staff recommended.

First, the recommended dessert is the "Sake Kasu Catalana" (520 yen). It is a cold dessert of Catalana made with ginjo sake lees and topped with mascarpone ice cream. The aroma of the sake lees that wafts through your nose and the mellow texture of the mascarpone ice cream are an exquisite match. It had a gentle taste and was delicious. *This dessert contains alcohol.

To pair the sweets, I ordered some Japanese sake. Since I was there, I decided to try the "Three Types of Sake Tasting" (880 yen).

The sake is carefully selected and the types change irregularly. On this day, from the right in the photo below, they were "Kugo", "Tenpoichi", and "Wakatakeya Nigori". Needless to say, they went perfectly with the "Sake Lees Terrine".

Next up is a non-alcoholic combination: "Freshly squeezed Mont Blanc" (880 yen) and "Roasted green tea" (450 yen).

The "Freshly squeezed Mont Blanc" has fresh cream, raspberry sauce, and meringue hidden under the chestnut cream, and is topped with salted caramel nuts. The deep flavor of the chestnut is accented by the sourness of the raspberry sauce, making it delicious! It had a refreshing taste.

"Houjicha" made with tea leaves from Yame, a tea-producing region of Fukuoka. The owner, who is a Japanese tea instructor (※), carefully brews each cup after an order is placed. (※) Qualifications certified by the NPO Japanese Tea Instructor Association

It pairs perfectly with sweets, and many people drop in for a drink to finish off their night out.
