A popular restaurant in the Keichiku area! A stylish cafe where you can also have lunch, with the recommended cake plate
Hello. I'm Momo and I love going to cafes.
This time, we will introduce some popular and stylish cafes in Yukuhashi city.
Very popular with locals! Cafe "2nd Labo" (Yukuhashi City) where you can enjoy daily sweets and lunches
2nd Labo is located about 5 minutes by car from JR Nippō Main Line Yukuhashi Station, near Yukuhashi Police Station. There is a private parking lot next to the building, so it is convenient to come by car.
The main store, "Roaster's Labo," located about a five-minute drive away, mainly serves coffee and sweets, while the second store, "2nd Labo," offers lunch in addition to sweets.
The shop is located on the second floor of the complex cultural facility "Cosmate Yukuhashi," and looks like this from the outside.
Enter the building through the front entrance with the sign and go up to the second floor.
This is the entrance to "2nd Labo."
The restaurant has counter seats and table seats, and is spacious so you can relax and unwind.
More than 10 kinds of coffee beans (from 800 yen for 100g)
Original goods were also sold, such as caps (from 4,500 yen) and T-shirts (from 4,000 yen) with the store's logo.
Take-out also available! Exquisite cakes of the day
The display case next to the counter is lined with homemade cakes and puddings made with seasonal ingredients. There are about four types of cakes on offer, which change daily.
You can also check the day's lineup on the store's Instagram.
If you choose to eat in, you can order the cake alone or as part of the "LABO Cake Plate" which comes with petit coffee soft serve, coffee jelly, and whipped cream (you can choose to add a drink with it).
For reference, I have also included a picture of the menu.
Let me introduce what I received.
Melty Basque Cheesecake
The shop's popular menu item is the "Melty Basque Cheesecake Cake Plate + Drink Set" (1,300 yen).
Baked at high temperatures, the Basque Cheesecake is fragrant, lightly sweet, and easy to eat.
It's incredibly smooth and delicious, with a thick, gooey texture that's irresistible ♡ It also pairs perfectly with coffee.
The "Coffee Soft Serve" is soft serve ice cream topped with coffee powder, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness.
I ate the "Coffee Jelly" with whipped cream. The balance between the bitter coffee jelly and the not-too-sweet cream was just right, and it was delicious.
Smooth Matcha Basque Cheesecake
The "Smooth Matcha Basque Cheesecake Cake Plate" (800 yen) has a beautiful matcha green color.
This Basque cheesecake has a strong matcha flavor and a slightly bitter, mature taste. It's moist, rich, and addictively delicious.
Sweet potato Basque cheesecake
The seasonal "Sweet Potato Basque Cheesecake Cake Plate" (800 yen) was discontinued at the end of November, but it was so delicious that I wanted to introduce it to you.
The seasonal Basque cheesecake, made with sweet potato, a taste of autumn, is smooth to the touch and the sweetness of the sweet potato fills your mouth. The roasted sweet potato-like aroma and rich cheese are a perfect match♡
Apple Pie
The current seasonal menu is the "Apple Pie Cake Plate + Drink Set" (1,400 yen) packed with apples. *Available until the end of December.
The fragrant smell of the pie crust will whet your appetite ♡ The balance of moderate sweetness and sourness of the apples is exquisite.
Rich Chocolate Gateau
The seasonal "Rich Gateau Chocolat Cake Plate + Drink Set" (1,300 yen) has been on sale since December. *Sales will end around January.
It has a moist texture and is very rich! You can enjoy the trinity of richness, sweetness, and bitterness, making for an elegant taste.
Be sure to check out the drinks and food menus too!
There is also an extensive drink menu, and you can get a great deal by ordering it as a set with lunch or dessert!
The "Cafe Latte" (630 yen) in the photo can be had either hot or iced. I ordered the hot version. It was served in a large cup, and the latte art was cute.
Lunchtime is also recommended, with dishes such as the "Coffee Shop's Authentic Keema Curry" (1,200 yen) which comes with a warm egg keema curry, salad, and coffee, the "Specially Hand-Kneaded Stewed Hamburger Steak" (1,500 yen) made with homemade demi-glace sauce, and the "Egg Sandwich" (600 yen) which is packed with ingredients.
You can also get sweets, drinks, and lunches for takeout. Please come and visit us! (Text by momo)
