Hello. I'm Momo and I love to eat.

This time, we will introduce you to a very popular udon restaurant in Kanda-machi, Kyoto-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture.

Everything is reasonably priced! "Teuchi Udon Nobu" is a very popular restaurant loved by people of all ages and genders (Kanda-machi, Kyoto-gun)

"Teuchi Udon Nobu" is located about a 5-minute drive from JR Nippō Main Line Kanda Station along National Route 10. This restaurant is renowned for its chewy handmade udon noodles, which are made from flour and cut by hand.

I went there just before noon on a Saturday, and the parking lots in front and behind the restaurant were almost full! Since opening in 2021, this restaurant has been extremely popular with locals. It is open from 11am to 3pm, but please note that it may close early if it runs out of noodles.

The shop only has counter seats. There are many seats and it is spacious. The cute character kneading the udon noodles was also impressive.

Udon from 350 yen! Cheap and delicious thin noodle udon

"Teuchi Udon Ki" is a self-service restaurant. First, you look at the menu at the entrance and then order your udon at the counter.

"Kake Udon" is very reasonably priced at only 350 yen!

After that, you can choose what you like, such as "Tempura" (70 to 180 yen) or "Onigiri" (rice balls) (120 to 140 yen),

You can add your own toppings such as green onions, ginger, yuzu pepper, and tempura flakes before taking a seat.

Kake Udon

The simplest and most reasonably priced option is "Kake Udon" (350 yen). Large servings are also available (+50 yen).

The thin Sanuki udon noodles were smooth, chewy, and firm, and the broth had a great aroma. It was so delicious that I wanted to drink it all up.

Kamatama butter

Looking at the menu, the one that caught my eye the most was the "Kamatama Butter" (450 yen). It was a simple dish with butter and egg on top of the noodles.

It comes with seasoned seaweed and dashi soy sauce.

I pour soy sauce over the udon and mix it with egg and butter. I was a little skeptical about whether butter would go well with udon, but when I tried it, I was impressed by how smooth and delicious it was!

It has a western taste like carbonara, and the richness of the butter and the black pepper go perfectly together. It was so delicious that I wanted to order it again and again.

Bukkake Udon

If you want something light and refreshing, we recommend the "Bukkake Udon" (500 yen). You can choose between hot or cold, and it is served with a rich broth.

The noodles are springy and chewy, allowing you to enjoy the original flavor of udon.

Meat udon

The most popular dish is "Meat Udon" (600 yen).

It is topped with plenty of flavorful, sweet beef, and the broth, meat, and umami match perfectly!

If you want a hearty meal, we recommend the "Niku Niku Udon" (850 yen) which has double the beef (pictured above is Niku Udon).

Tempura from 70 yen! A wide variety of side dishes and toppings available

There is also a wide variety of tempura and side dishes on offer. I'll introduce a few of them.

Eggplant tempura

"Nasuten" (70 yen) has an excellent balance of soft eggplant and crispy batter.

It has vertical slits making it easy to eat, and is irresistible for eggplant lovers.

Soft-boiled egg tempura

The "Soft-boiled Egg Tempura" (120 yen) is a popular side dish that is crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside.

"Kimpira Gobo" is free and self-serve! You'll get addicted to the spicy and crunchy texture.
