The Fukuoka Oktoberfest, which has become a seasonal autumn event in Fukuoka, has finally arrived!

This year, the event will be held for 10 days. You can enjoy authentic beer shipped directly from Germany, German cuisine, and traditional Bavarian music.

15 types of German beer will be gathered together at "Fukuoka Oktoberfest 2024" (Kamikawabata-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City)

The Fukuoka Oktoberfest 2024 will be held for 10 days from Friday, October 18th to Sunday, October 27th at Reizei Park in Kamikawabata-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City.

I visited on the first day, the 18th (Friday), and many people were waiting outside the park even before it opened at 4pm.

This year, 15 brands of draft beer shipped directly from Germany will be on display! You can also get a taste of Germany from the impressive storefronts at each booth.

A large tent is set up in the center with rows of seats inside.

It's a very large venue, but it fills up in the evenings! It gets especially lively on Fridays and Saturdays, so it's a good idea to arrive early to secure a seat.

This is a luxurious event where beloved brands of beer from Germany, the home of beer, will be gathered at this venue in Fukuoka for a period of time!

There are many brands that you don't usually have a chance to see, so it's a lineup that beer lovers will love.

Cash is a must! How to enjoy Fukuoka Oktoberfest

German beer comes in a set mug for each brand. When ordering your first glass, you will be required to pay a deposit of 1,000 yen for the mug in addition to the price of the beer.

At Fukuoka Oktoberfest 2024, the entire venue will be cashless, but beer mug deposits will only be cash-based, so don't forget to bring cash with you.

Some establishments offer large mugs or multiple glasses for comparing different drinks, which can require a deposit of 1,000 yen or more. It's a good idea to have at least 1,000 yen in cash for each brand you want to try.

Other than that, you can use various payment methods such as credit cards, QR code payments, and transportation IC cards.

From the second drink onwards, you can exchange your empty glass for a new one, so you only pay for the beer!

If you return the glass when you drink beer from a different booth or when you leave, your 1,000 yen deposit will be refunded.

Let's all have a toast with big mugs♪

Once you've secured your seat and purchased your favorite beer, it's time to toast!

I first went to the Wertenburger/Warsteiner/König Ludwig booth.

I chose the "Weltenburger Spezialfestbier" (pictured left, 500ml, 1,700 yen *deposit required). It's rich and elegant! You can taste the rich malt flavor. It's also recommended for those who like dry beer.

At this booth, I also bought a "Beef Thigh Steak" (1,500 yen). Although most shops have the impression of having a lot of sausages, they also have a wide variety of meat dishes.

The garlic chips add a nice accent and go great with beer! You'll find yourself drinking more and more beer!

The food is just as impressive as the real thing. You can enjoy a special experience that is hard to find in Japan.

The beer I tried here was the Oktoberfest limited edition beer "Oktoberfest Beer" (500ml, 1,700 yen)! This is the same authentic beer that is also served at the Munich venue, making it the perfect menu for enjoying Oktoberfest to the fullest.

It has a refreshing lager-like taste, so I think it will be popular with people of all ages.

Experience the authentic atmosphere of traditional Bavarian music!

Traditional Bavarian music is played throughout the venue, creating an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Germany! If you're lucky, a band dressed in traditional costumes will appear on stage and you can enjoy a live brass band performance.

In addition to beer, soft drinks are also sold at each booth at the venue. Even if you don't drink alcohol, you're sure to have a fun time here!
