[Fukuoka Morning] Available from 8am! A delicious breakfast that takes time and effort to prepare (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Hello! I'm hicho_cafe, who posts gourmet information on Instagram, mainly about cafes in Fukuoka.
This time, we would like to introduce some recommended restaurants that serve breakfast in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.
The morning menu is popular! A hideaway-like restaurant that you'll want to tell everyone about: "Kotoshiro" (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka)
Kotoshiro is located in Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, about a 5-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the subway. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy carefully brewed Japanese tea, one cup at a time, in a teapot, and meals that go well with Japanese tea.
The Japanese tea they use is "Sonogi tea" from Higashisonogi-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture. Tea brewed by a professional, with careful attention paid to the temperature of the water and the brewing time, has a special flavor. They also have sake and their own original "chashu" (tea sake).
The interior of the store, which was renovated from a room in an apartment building, has dim lighting and an adult hideaway atmosphere.
The tables made of natural wood and the beautiful lighting made from bamboo are eye-catching.
The morning menu at this restaurant is very popular.
Open from 8am! An exquisite breakfast packed with special ingredients
It seems that the "tea shop breakfast" started from the culture of "morning tea," which says that "drinking tea in the morning will ward off misfortunes and bring you good fortune for the day."
They are open from 8am and offer two types of breakfast: "Tea and rice balls" (1,900 yen) and "Tea and raw egg on rice" (1,700 yen). This time, I ordered the "Tea and rice balls".
Tea and rice balls
The set includes two rice balls cooked in a clay pot, miso soup with first-grade dashi broth, rolled omelet with dashi broth, two small side dishes, pickles, and cold water-brewed tea "Reimei."
The side dishes, miso soup, and pickles change daily, making you want to come back again and again.
The side dishes on this day were "Simmered Kyushu vegetables and soy pulp" and "Mizuna and fried tofu ohitashi."
It uses fresh vegetables, so you can enjoy the crunchy texture.
Many people probably don't have the time to prepare an elaborate breakfast at home, so coming here to enjoy two carefully prepared side dishes is a delight.
Speaking of the standard breakfast menu, tamagoyaki (egg roll) is a must-have.
The rolled omelet uses "Tsumandego eggs" from Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture, allowing you to enjoy the fluffy texture and rich egg flavor.
It's nice that the miso soup is served piping hot ♡ On this day, the miso soup contained mushrooms and mitsuba.
You can choose two from six types of rice balls: "Salt rice ball," "Sardines and green vegetables," "Spicy Fish Eggs" (+50 yen), "Simmered black wagyu beef" (+50 yen), "Sesame kelp," and "Homemade pork miso."
They all looked delicious so it was hard to choose, but this time I decided to order the popular "Spicy Fish Eggs" and "Sardines and Green Vegetables."
They cook carefully selected rice from Kyushu with natural water from the Kirishima Mountains in Kagoshima.
Apparently the rice is cooked in a clay pot for each group, so we were able to enjoy the unique aroma and sweetness that only a clay pot can provide.
Tea and rice with raw egg
I also recommend the "Tea and Raw Egg on Rice" (1,700 yen) so I'll introduce it to you.
The raw egg on rice is made with "Tsumandego Tamago" eggs from Itoshima, just like the tamagoyaki.
The dark-colored and flavorful eggs are eaten with a special dashi soy sauce that brings out the deliciousness of the eggs.
This also comes with small side dishes, miso soup, pickles, and tea.
If you're not good at getting up early in the morning, don't worry!
Starting in November, these breakfast menus will be available from 8am to 5pm (last order 4:30pm).
Why not come and try the delicious tea and carefully selected items? (Text by Hicho_cafe)
