This time, we will introduce some noteworthy cafes in Yanagawa City that are worth making the effort to visit.

Opening in 2024! A hideaway for adults with a beautiful Japanese garden: "Yanagawa Cafe IKOI" (Yanagawa City)

About an hour's drive from central Fukuoka City. About a five-minute drive from Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station, "Yanagawa Cafe IKOI" will have its pre-opening on July 18, 2024. *The official opening is scheduled for October 3.

It is attached to the pet-friendly guesthouse "Yanagawa Guesthouse Ikoi." It is open only three days a week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 12:30 to 16:30. *After the official opening, it will be open from 11:30 to 16:30.

You have to take off your shoes before entering the store, creating a stylish space for adults.

You can enjoy the view of the Japanese garden from inside the store, which is filled with natural light.

This garden was produced by world-renowned garden designer and Yanagawa Tourism Ambassador Kazuyuki Ishihara, and was handcrafted by the owner and his craftsmen!

Just like marbles! Beautiful and delicious "Kowloon Ball Parfait"

Currently, due to the pre-opening period, there are simply two basic menu items.

The first is a "Drink" that comes with a handmade cookie (770 yen each). The drink menu has seven types, including "Hand-drip coffee made from carefully selected beans," "Masala Chai," and "Mlesna Tea flavored tea."

The other is the "Sweets Set" (1,650 yen), which includes a choice of three desserts and a drink of your choice. On this day, "Basque cheesecake," "Mont Blanc pie," and "Kowloon ball parfait" were available. *Sweets change depending on the season.

This time, I chose the "Kowloon Ball Parfait" (scheduled to be on sale until mid-October 2024) and "Organic Iced Coffee" from the "Sweets Set." Please note that payment is only accepted in cash.

Kowloon balls are a type of sweet that originated in Hong Kong and are also known as edible jewels.

The fruit is trapped inside the jiggly jelly, making it sparkly and cute, just like marbles.

When I visited, they had Kyoho grapes, Shine Muscat grapes, and Gold Kiwi fruit. *The fruit may change depending on the availability at the time.

The cool, smooth texture and bouncy elasticity spread throughout my mouth and it was delicious.

Other ingredients included were milk ice cream, fresh cream, mandarin oranges, chocolate brownies, and at the bottom there was carbonated water jelly, corn flakes, and custard cream, so there was a variety of flavors to enjoy.

They also sell handmade cookies and other baked goods (350 yen each), making them perfect as gifts or to go with coffee.

The "Sesame Pepper" flavor hits you the moment you put it in your mouth, followed by the salty taste of black pepper, creating an exquisite balance.

"Cinnamon nougat" has a very light texture and is easy to eat. Its leaf-like shape is cute.

"Coconut" has a mild flavor that is sure to satisfy everyone, from adults to children.

"Caramel Nuts" allows you to enjoy the crunchy texture of walnuts and almonds.

I felt free from my busy daily routine and enjoyed the time.
