[Kokura Lunch] Highly praised by enthusiasts! "Exceptional butter chicken" at this spice curry restaurant (Kitakyushu City)

Hello! We are Taiki Beef Curry, and we are always searching for delicious curry!

This time, we will introduce a spice curry restaurant in Higashi Shinozaki, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City, that can be enjoyed casually by anyone, from individuals to families with children!

Sarashia Kitchen, a spice curry restaurant that opened in 2020 (Higashi Shinozaki, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

Sarashia Kitchen is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Katano Station on the Kitakyushu Monorail. There is no private parking lot, but there are many paid parking lots in the surrounding area.

This is a spice curry restaurant run by a husband and wife who opened in 2020 by the owner, a former band member who later honed his skills at an Italian restaurant.

The menu is posted inside and outside the store.

In addition to the regular menu items such as the original "Wildcat Curry" (1,300 yen) with plenty of domestic beef tendon, "Keema Curry" (1,200 yen) with plenty of seasonal vegetables, "Dry Keema Curry" (1,200 yen) with its meaty and rich spices, "Kerala Chicken" (1,300 yen) coconut milk-based chicken curry, "Meals" (1,300 yen) a South Indian set meal, and "Chapati Plate" (1,500 yen) which is eaten wrapped in keema curry, various curries are introduced from time to time. It's fun to visit again and again.

The spiciness of the curry is about the same as medium or hot curry available on the market. The spiciness level is also listed for each menu item. You can also make it spicier (adding one green chili pepper for 50 yen or more).

There are four tables inside the shop, and children (with strollers) are welcome, but reservations are required in advance. They also offer "Children's Curry" (free for children under elementary school age, 500 yen for elementary school students and above).

A rich, flavorful "butter chicken curry" perfect for adults

The dish I was looking forward to that day was the Butter Chicken Curry (1,300 yen apiece).

Although it won't be available as a regular menu item every day, we'd like to introduce it to you in the hope that it will become more common in the future.

At Sarashia Kitchen, you can add two different types of curry to your main curry for an additional 200 to 300 yen, so I chose to add the Dry Keema Curry (+300 yen).

Be sure to also order "Paratha" (150 yen each, pictured at the back below), which is made by rolling out chapati dough, kneading ghee (Indian butter oil) into layers, and baking it into thin strips.

Butter chicken curry is a classic Indian curry. It is a curry eaten in northern India and is often found in Indian restaurants in town.

In northern India, people enjoy viscous dishes made with meat, butter and ghee, which is exactly what butter chicken curry is made of.

The side dishes served with the curry are cabbage thoren, bitter melon poriyal, potato masala, and onion achar. They are indispensable for adding sweetness, sourness, and texture to the curry.

Sarashia Kitchen's Butter Chicken Curry is buttery and creamy enough to please even the most butter-loving people, but the combination of the refreshing acidity of the tomatoes, the savory flavor of the chicken, and the spiciness and freshness of the spices makes it so delicious you'll never tire of eating it!

This rich flavor makes it truly an adult butter chicken curry.

Full of spice! Rich flavor "Dry Keema Curry"

"Dry Keema Curry" has a rich flavor with plenty of minced meat and the sweet and fragrant taste of spices.

I also like that it comes with a soft-boiled egg on top.

It goes very well with the mild and creamy "Butter Chicken Curry."

One of the joys of mixing curries or side dishes is that the flavor changes little by little as you eat them.

It's fun to mix it up to suit your taste.

Be sure to try the delicious Indian desserts!

The curry comes with a dessert made by the chef's wife and a drink (coffee or chai).

On this day, I had "Panna Cotta", but I also wanted to eat "Coffee Kulfi" (450 yen), so I ordered it as an additional item (100 yen discount if you change the dessert that comes with the meal).

"Kulfi" is a milk ice cream that is popular in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries.

The rich milk flavor, the bitter and fragrant taste of coffee, and the refreshing scent of cardamom spread throughout your mouth, making it the perfect drink after a curry.
