[Kitakyushu Lunch] Volume, taste and appearance are all perfect! A new menu from a popular restaurant

This time, we will introduce a very popular restaurant in Kokuraminami Ward, Kitakyushu City.
Amazing portions! Toriyasu Shokudo, a popular restaurant with set meals that has been in business for over 50 years (Soneshindenkita, Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu City)
Toriyasu Shokudo is located about a 5-minute walk from JR Kutami Station. There is free parking, so it is convenient to go by car.
This long-established restaurant has been loved for over 50 years and was renovated in 2022.

While maintaining the same filling style as before, the menu offers over 20 new and innovative dishes.
Set menus start from 890 yen.

The restaurant is spacious and has both counter seats and raised seating.

The counter seats surrounding the kitchen have an old-fashioned atmosphere.

Attention-grabbing new menu items
From here, we will introduce some noteworthy set meals, including new menu items introduced this summer.
Tonteki set meal
The first thing that surprised me was the hearty menu item, the "Tonteki Gozen" (single 1,450 yen, double 2,250 yen).
The hearty pork steak comes with three side dishes, miso soup, egg, and rice. You can choose between single and double portions of meat, so this time I was greedy and ordered the double portion!

As a special favor, I was allowed to take photos of the pork before it was grilled.
I was surprised at the thickness and size of the meat that came out!

The meat is thick and firm, and when you put it in your mouth, the sweetness of the meat spreads throughout your mouth.

The "Tonteki Gozen" was of unquestionable quality and was so delicious that I wanted to order it again and again!
Super Pork and Egg Rice Bowl
Speaking of Toriyasu Shokudo, one of their specialties is the rice bowl menu served in a bucket. Each dish comes with three small side dishes and miso soup.
The newly introduced "Super Pork and Egg Bowl" (1,380 yen) is a striking dish of sweet and spicy pork topped with a rolled egg.

It was more filling than it looked, and had plenty of rice in it.
The well-seasoned meat and the slightly sweet omelet were in perfect balance!

Super pork belly yakiniku bowl
This is the "Super Pork Belly Yakiniku Bowl" (1,550 yen), which has been extremely popular since its introduction last year. This dish is topped with so much pork belly that it covers the rice.

The egg on top is the yolk of "Ran-oh," a brand of egg produced in Oita Prefecture.
The juicy pork belly and rich egg yolk went perfectly together, making it so tasty it went down a treat with rice.
