[Ukiha Lunch] The tender charcoal-grilled local chicken is delicious! A "secret" restaurant with a great view
Hello. I'm Yuri and I love delicious food.
This time, we will introduce a restaurant in Ukiha City where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled local chicken.
"Minoya Jidori" (Ukiha City) where you can enjoy extremely fresh Hakata Jidori chicken in a traditional Japanese house
"Jidori Minouya" opened in October 2023. You can enjoy Fukuoka's brand of local chicken "Hakata Jidori" grilled on a charcoal grill.
It is a 5-minute drive from JR Kyudai Main Line Chikugo Yoshii Station and a 10-minute drive from Oita Expressway Asakura IC.
This traditional house is over 70 years old and has a charming exterior.
You have to take your shoes off before entering the store, and the warmth of the wood creates a cozy atmosphere.
Nostalgic and relaxing atmosphere.
The idyllic rural scenery visible from the window is also soothing.
Colorful Hasami ware dishes, mugs, and other items are also available for purchase next to the cash register.
All of them look easy to use everyday ♡
Please note that payment is only accepted in cash.
Delicious! A convenient set where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled brand chicken "Hakata Jidori"
The basic menu is simple with two options.
One is the "Hakata Jidori Charcoal Grilled Set" (1,800 yen per person). In addition to Hakata Jidori chicken, the set includes rice, vegetables (cabbage, onion, green pepper, eggplant, pumpkin), chicken miso soup, pickles, a raw egg, and dessert. Another great thing about this set is that you can get a second bowl of rice for free.
There is also a "Hakata Jidori Chicken and Grilled Vegetables" (1,500 yen) option which excludes the rice, local chicken miso soup, pickles, raw egg, and dessert from the above set.
You can add rice, local chicken miso soup, and raw egg for 100 yen each. You can also add "Grilled Chicken Skin" (800 yen per person) and "Gizzard" (800 yen per person). *You cannot order only "Grilled Chicken Skin" or "Gizzard"
This time, I ordered the "Hakata Jidori Charcoal Grilled Set." The photo shows a serving for two.
Once you order, the food is brought to you right away. You grill it yourself on a tabletop charcoal grill.
The iron plate is dome-shaped like a Genghis Khan pot and has holes in it, allowing excess fat to drain away, resulting in a healthy cooking experience.
"Hakata Jidori" chicken is marinated in homemade soy sauce and cut into long, thin strips.
It cooks in a short amount of time and doesn't cook evenly, so anyone can grill it deliciously.
After grilling, we recommend adding yuzu pepper or soy sauce.
This soy sauce sauce contains local fruits from Ukiha, making it very sweet and fruity.
Moreover, the fruits used change depending on the season, so it's fun to try it multiple times and enjoy the different flavors.
The local chicken at "Jidori Minouya" is grilled until crispy on the outside, but is very soft on the inside and easy to eat.
Generally speaking, charcoal-grilled local chicken is perceived as very chewy. Of course, that chewiness is appealing, but there are also parts that are difficult for children to bite through, and I was a little worried about my daughter's reaction, as she currently has loose baby teeth and has difficulty eating hard foods.
However, the meat here was very easy to eat and must have been so delicious because we received a request for seconds!
I ordered an additional serving of "Hakata Jidori Chicken" (1,000 yen).
Looking at the photo, it looks like the vegetables were a little overcooked... (laughs).
The burnt parts had a nice charcoal aroma, so it all turned out well!
The miso soup with local chicken that comes with the set is also excellent. The delicious taste of the chicken and the flavor of the miso combine to create a blissful moment.
You can eat the eggs on meat or pour them over rice!
And finally, we finished off with dessert. On this day, it was coffee jelly and vanilla ice cream (the dessert changes depending on the day).
I forgot to take a photo, but the proprietress' special blend of 15 different types of tea (self-service) based on oolong tea was also really delicious!
There was greenery beyond the window, and it felt like a BBQ♪ It was fun to have everyone there and have fun♡
I was very satisfied with both the cost performance and the volume!
Please come and visit us to satisfy your stomach and your soul. (Text by Yuri-chan)
