Discover the best omelet rice! "Great value parfaits" and a cafe worth visiting (Chikugo City)

Hello. I am Yorimichi, the owner of the blog "Yorimichi's Fukuoka Introduction," which introduces delicious restaurants in Fukuoka.

I finally went to a shop in Chikugo City that I had been interested in for a long time!

Founded in 1976! A cafe and restaurant loved by locals: "WOODY" (Chikugo City)

This time we would like to introduce "WOODY", located on National Route 209 in Izumi, Chikugo City (near Fukuoka Prefectural Yame High School). Founded in 1976, this cafe and restaurant specializes in Western cuisine.

The parking lot is quite large, but it's always full, even on weekends. It's been three years since I was able to go there, but the day has finally come when I can open the doors.

The interior of the store has a nostalgic feel to it, and there is a warm, friendly atmosphere.

And what surprised me was the price range.

Nowadays, if you order shaved ice at a cafe you would be prepared to pay over 1,500 yen, but everything here is served for just 980 yen.

The best looking and tasting "Special Omelette Rice"

This time I ordered the "Special Omelette Rice" (1,580 yen).

The omelet rice topped with homemade hamburger steak and fried shrimp makes it the ultimate children's lunch! Isn't it just too good?

Let's start with the fried shrimp.

It's hot and steaming delicious! You can eat the whole thing from head to toe, and it's so crunchy you'll find yourself eating it all.

You can choose from four types of sauce for your omelet rice: demi-glace sauce, cream sauce, ketchup sauce, and tomato sauce. I chose the demi-glace sauce.

I don't dislike restaurants that are particular about how things are pronounced like this.

Ahhh, I remember it fondly. This is it. A pure omurice.

This is a thin omelet on ketchup rice without any toppings. This requires a lot of skill, so it's becoming less common these days.

The hand-kneaded hamburger is also juicy and has a great flavor.

In addition to the omelet rice, soup and salad were also included. The soup was so good it made me sigh in a good way!

Deliciously crunchy shaved ice "Citrus Yogurt"

You should also try the summer-only shaved ice (available until the end of September). There are five varieties, but on this day I chose the "Citrus Yogurt" (980 yen).

It is made with freshly made whipped cream, yuzu jam, orange, and lemon yogurt.

Ah! This is it, this taste!

The fluffy Taiwanese style is good, but I always end up settling on the nostalgic crunchy type.

The ice also contained Hokkaido milk soft serve ice cream, which was very satisfying.

Must-try! Limited time only "Whole Peach Earl Grey Tea Parfait"

At this point, my desire for sweets accelerated, so I ordered the "Whole Peach Earl Grey Tea Parfait" (1,280 yen). This is a limited-time, limited-quantity item. Please check Instagram for the end of the sale period.
