This time, we will introduce sweets that are perfect for the hot summer♪

Even on weekdays, you may have to wait 1-2 hours! Popular shop in Tanga Market, "Kokurado Ice Cream" (Uomachi, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City)

"Kokurado Ice Cream" is located about a 10-minute walk from JR Kokura Station.

This shop is located inside Tanga Market, known as the "kitchen of Kitakyushu."

There are 9 seats in total, including 5 at the counter and one table that seats 4 people.

It's so popular that even on weekdays, you may have to wait 1-2 hours.

It is not possible to reserve seats; when you arrive at the restaurant, you write your name down and enter in the order in which you are called.

If you are not there when your name is called, just let a staff member know when you return to the store and they will help you in the order in which your name was written.

There's no need to line up in front of the store, so you can wait while strolling around Tanga Market.

The ever-popular shaved ice made with plenty of fruit is back again this year!

Kakigori is a popular summer-only snack every year. Currently, five varieties are available for a limited time until the end of September, and you can reserve any of them (seat reservations are not possible).

All the fruits are sourced from Tanga Market, so they are super fresh!

I'll introduce the charms of each one.

Peach Shaved Ice

I had the "Peach Shaved Ice" (1,880 yen), which is made with the luxurious flavor of a whole peach.

This is the most popular menu item, with roughly one in two customers ordering it.

A hearty shaved ice topped with large peaches.

It's topped with plenty of condensed milk and homemade syrup.

The fluffy fresh cream made every morning goes perfectly with the crunchy shaved ice.

It even came topped with vanilla ice cream, making for a very satisfying shaved ice.

Strawberry Milk

The next most popular shaved ice after the "Peach Shaved Ice" is the "Strawberry Milk" shaved ice (1,780 yen).

There are so many strawberries that you can't even see the ice, and it's covered in a generous amount of condensed milk, making it very appetizing.

Kiwi fruit

Personally, I thought the kiwi fruit shaved ice (1,480 yen) was a unique combination that I'd never seen before.

The combination of the refreshing sourness of kiwi and the sweetness of shaved ice is sure to become an addictive treat once you try it!

pineapple

This is also a rare shaved ice flavor that I have rarely come across: "Pineapple" (1,480 yen).

You can enjoy the juicy, sweet and sour flesh.

Mango Milk

"Mango Milk" shaved ice (1,880 yen) allows you to enjoy the fresh aroma and rich sweetness of mango.

You can enjoy a tropical feel with just this one item.
