The perfect way to end your day in Nakasu! "You won't be able to resist drinking it all" - exquisite medicinal soup (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

Hello. I'm Yuri and I love ramen and all kinds of noodles.

This time, we will introduce a store specializing in medicinal soups located in Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.

Niangniang Malatang, a specialty store that serves Malatang, a blend of 28 types of herbal medicine (Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)

"Niang Niang Malatang" is located a 2-minute walk from Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the Subway Airport Line.

The restaurant is scheduled to open in October 2023. It is known for its "malatang," a soup made from a blend of 28 types of medicinal herbs imported directly from China.

There is a custom order sheet where you can choose your noodles, spiciness, toppings, etc.

There are six spiciness variations ranging from 0 to 5 (4 spiciness + 70 yen, 5 spiciness + 150 yen).

You can choose from four types of noodles: "Vermicelli Noodles", "Plate Vermicelli Noodles" (+140 yen), "Chinese Noodles" (+140 yen), and "Konnyaku Noodles" (+200 yen).

There are a variety of toppings available, such as shrimp, coriander (+150 yen each), Chinese cabbage, cherry tomatoes, maitake mushrooms (+130 yen each), king oyster mushrooms, cabbage, and white onions (+110 yen each), so you can arrange it to your liking.

First, I ordered the restaurant's recommended "Level 3 spiciness" with "Vermicelli noodles."

For toppings, choose from "Kikurage" (+150 yen), "Pork" (+150 yen), "Bokka" (+130 yen), and "Shimeji" (+110 yen). The total comes to 1,200 yen.

The chicken broth base is slightly thick and has a rich, sweet yet refreshing taste.

You can also smell the medicinal aroma, but it's not too strong, so it's recommended for those who don't like things that are too authentic.

The chili oil added to it is made with Sichuan peppercorns, giving it a spiciness that numbs the tongue! Even the level 3 spiciness, which doesn't make the soup that much red, is quite spicy.

However, it matches perfectly with the chicken broth, and you'll become addicted to it.

The vermicelli noodles are irresistible, with their soft elasticity and smooth texture.

It's healthy, so you can enjoy it late at night without feeling too guilty!

For this one, I ordered it with "0 spiciness" without changing the noodles or toppings, and tried comparing the taste.

Although Malatang is basically spicy, I would personally wholeheartedly recommend the "0 spiciness" version to everyone, even those who can't handle spicy food!

The base soup has a well-established flavor, so you don't have to rely on spiciness.
