Breakfast available from 7:30! A popular bakery with a steady stream of customers from the morning (Takatori, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City)
Hello. I'm Masaki, a writer who loves hidden gourmet spots.
This time, we will introduce you to a popular bakery that is packed with customers from the morning onwards.
Perfect for those who want to eat bread with tea! Popular bakery "Konjo" (Takatori, Sawara-ku, Fukuoka City)
Konjo is a bakery located in Takatori, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City, near Momiji Hachimangu Shrine, which is known for its autumn leaves and prayers for safe childbirth.
This is a shop where you can enjoy bread made with carefully selected ingredients and prepared using a special method, as well as French tea.
Business hours are from 7:30 a.m. This time, I visited at 8:40 a.m. on a Saturday morning, and it was already crowded with many customers.
The store is lined with a wide variety of delicious-looking breads, from sweet buns to savory breads.
Not only soft bread but also hard bread is sold here.
It looks really great.
A blissful morning with bread and tea!
This time, we decided to try six of the shop's recommended breads in the eat-in space.
Konjo recommends black tea, so we also had two different types of tea.
The lineup is as follows. *All prices are for eat-in (take-out is also available)
bread
・Focaccia Large (367 yen)
・Corn rustic (237 yen)
・Caramel nut ganache (378 yen)
・Spinach bread (129 yen)
・Peach Danish (453 yen)
・Pistachio & Orange (324 yen *half size)
Black tea
・Kusmi Tea White Bellini (440 yen)
・Kusmi Tea St. Petersburg (440 yen)
First, let me introduce the popular "Focaccia Large." It is the most popular menu item among women.
It has a fluffy texture, just the right amount of saltiness, and a refreshing olive oil aroma that is irresistible.
The "Peach Danish" went on sale in mid-June and is only available for a limited time until around August.
This bread has a great peach pulp and flavor and goes perfectly with tea.
Hard bread "Pistachio & Orange".
The crunchy texture and flavor of the pistachios and the dough that gets tastier the more you chew it are amazing.
The subtle orange flavour is also nice.
The "Caramel Nut Ganache" is a wonderful menu item with the perfect texture of walnuts.
If you are interested in hardpan, be sure to add this to your purchasing list.
In addition, the "Spinach Bread" and "Corn Rustic" also had a great aroma and texture. Highly recommended!
The black teas "Kusmi Tea White Bellini" and "Kusmi Tea St. Petersburg," as their names suggest, use tea leaves from Kusmi Tea, a long-established French tea house.
The fruity and refreshing taste was impressive and went well with all the breads. By the way, the tea, like the bread, is available for takeout.
Black tea leaves can also be purchased in tin cases. If you're a black tea lover, be sure to have one at home!
Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.
The atmosphere in the store was great, and the staff were all lovely. If you're interested, please stop by. (Text by Masaki)
