[Nakasu] Great value lunch at a high-end restaurant! "3,000 yen off at lunch" "Exquisite shark fin bowl" only available for 8 servings
Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.
This time, I would like to introduce my favorite authentic Chinese restaurant in Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City.
Great location! Great value for money, authentic Chinese food "Lao Shanghai Rikushichubo Nakasu Branch" (Nakasu, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City)
"Lao Shanghai Riku Shi Chubo Nakasu Branch" is a 2-minute walk from Haruyoshibashi Bridge and a 4-minute walk from Kushidajinja-mae Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line. It is located on the 6th floor of the "FPG links NAKASU Building" along Kokutai Road.
This is a sister restaurant of the popular "Shiki Rikushichubo" restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo, which is so popular that reservations are impossible to get. You can also enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine at this restaurant in Fukuoka.
The interior of the store is luxurious. It makes you feel like you're rich.
Reservations are required for the window seats, which are special seats! With a beautiful view of the Nakagawa River right in front of you, you can enjoy the view towards Tenjin.
In addition to spacious table seating, there are also several private rooms.
The private rooms by the windows in particular feel especially special! If you plan on using them, be sure to make a reservation.
I love this restaurant and have been there many times. Not only is the atmosphere great and the food delicious, but the customer service is also fantastic! It's perfect for special occasions.
A menu of high-quality ingredients for a bargain price of 3,000 yen! Recommended lunches, including shark fin rice bowls (limited to 8 servings per day)
Lunch at Lao Shanghai can be enjoyed from 1,300 yen, but this time we enjoyed a menu that was a little on the pricey side!
Shark fin rice bowl
The item we were looking for this time was the "Shark Fin Rice Bowl" (limited to 8 servings, 2,800 yen), which can be enjoyed at a great value during lunchtime.
Shark fin is a high-class ingredient that represents Chinese cuisine. In fact, a shark fin bowl that costs 5,800 yen during dinner time can be enjoyed for a bargain price of 3,000 yen during lunch time! What's more, soup and dessert are also included with the lunch.
The shark fin is very voluminous and feels very heavy even when scooped up with a large spoon!
The sauce is made with duck meat, pork trotters, chicken, maple leaves, and Jinhua ham, and the melt-in-your-mouth shark fin is finished with a luxurious flavor. It's so delicious you'll want to eat it with rice!
If I was going to splurge, I wanted to eat at the most trustworthy restaurant, and this was definitely the dish for me!
Dried shrimp
This time we also ordered the "Dried Shrimp Braised in Chili Sauce" (lunch set 1,980 yen, dinner a la carte 2,500 yen).
It's packed with large shrimp and the sweet and spicy, rich sauce is delicious!
The popping texture of the shrimp and its luxurious flavor left a lasting impression on me.
Luo Island Wild Shellfish (Soft-shelled Turtle Soup)
In fact, they also serve such high-class ingredients...! You can also enjoy "Kagoshima Wild Softshelled Turtle Soup" (1,200 yen), which uses softshelled turtles from Kagoshima Prefecture.
Due to its high nutritional value, soft-shelled turtles have long been valued as a nourishing and invigorating food.
When combined with the soup made from Lao Shanghai's signature dashi stock, the result is a dish with outstanding flavor and an incredibly delicious taste.
Steamed papaya bird's nest soup
This is "Steamed Papaya Soup with Bird's Nest" (reservation required, 7,800 yen), which uses bird's nest.
Bird's nest is said to be good for beauty and health, and is a well-known luxury food that has been loved in China for over 1,200 years.
Despite being such an expensive menu item, it is apparently a very popular item at Lao Shanghai, with many orders coming in.
The ripe papaya is topped with a generous amount of slightly sweet bird's nest!
It was truly an exquisite item, perfect for an anniversary or as a treat for yourself.
Art de Vivre Rose
One of the attractions of Lao Shanghai is that you can enjoy drinks from lunchtime. On this day, many people were enjoying their drinks while admiring the beautiful scenery.
One drink that is particularly popular among women right now is the summer-only "Art de Vivre Rose" (bottle price 10,000 yen).
This sparkling pink wine has a soft aroma of red berries, blackcurrant, and strawberry on the nose, and a rose and citrus flavor that fills the mouth. It is the perfect accompaniment for special occasions.
Plenty of soft drinks available too
There was also a wide selection of soft drinks made from 100% fruit juice, such as "Pomegranate Juice" (600 yen) and "Carrot Juice" (500 yen).
At "Lao Shanghai Rikushi Kitchen Nakasu Branch," you can enjoy everything from reasonable menus to full-fledged dishes you'd want to eat on special occasions. Please be sure to visit. (Text by CHIHIRO)
