The best lunch for a drive to Itoshima! "Amazing view outside the window" A restaurant with a line even on weekdays for "luxury seafood bowls" (Fukuoka City)
Hello. This is Chihi Log, a casual website that provides information about Fukuoka, with a focus on gourmet food.
This time, we will introduce a popular restaurant with an excellent location overlooking Itoshima's tourist spots.
Enjoy the spectacular view of Itoshima! Popular restaurant "Itoshima Kaisendo Futamigaura Main Branch" (Oda, Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City) where there are always long lines even on weekdays
"Itoshima Kaisendo Futamigaura Main Branch" is a popular restaurant in the Itoshima area. Since opening on October 13, 2023, it has become a popular restaurant with long lines even on weekdays.
There is a spacious parking lot. Take the Showa Bus (West Coast Liner) from Hakata Station, or the Showa Bus (Nishinoura Line) from JR Kyushu University Research and Development Station, get off at "Futamigaura (in front of Meoto Iwa)" and it is a 1-minute walk from there.
You can enjoy your meal while looking out over the lush Genkai Sea and the Meoto Iwa rocks of Sakurai Futamigaura, a famous tourist spot in Fukuoka.
The restaurant is spacious, with a total of over 70 seats, including counter seats and table seats.
The counter seats are special seats with the ocean right in front of you!
In particular, the counter seats on the left side of the restaurant facing the sea offer the closest view of the Meoto Iwa rocks.
The restaurant is actually two stories high, and there are four private rooms down the stairs.
Up to eight people can use the facility, and room rates range from 500 to 1,000 yen per person depending on the room (private rooms are free for elementary school students and younger).
The most popular menu item is the seafood bowl, with about 20 varieties available!
"Itoshima Kaisendo" is a seafood specialty restaurant that uses fresh fish caught in Kyushu.
The seafood, carefully selected from the market every morning, is known for its freshness and high quality. Among the dishes, the seafood bowls, which come in about 20 varieties, are the most popular!
In addition to the main dish, the seafood bowl comes with a small side dish, chawanmushi, and miso soup. You can choose between white rice and vinegared rice, and large portions are available for free.
This was my second visit and I noticed that new products had appeared! Let me introduce each one to you.
Extra large red shrimp bowl
The "Extra Large Red Shrimp Bowl" (2,200 yen) is topped with six large red shrimp. In the center is the egg yolk of Itoshima's brand egg "Tsumandego Egg."
The generous serving of red shrimp was packed with rich flavor! I was able to thoroughly enjoy it.
There are two types of Kyushu soy sauce and sesame sauce on the table, so you can choose according to your preference.
Ultimate ikura bowl
The new "Kiwame Hon Ikura Donburi" (3,800 yen), which was introduced in May, is a menu item limited to 10 servings per day.
There is sea urchin and gold flakes on the center, and just looking at it is overwhelmingly luxurious.
Even if you don't like salmon roe, this is a surprising dish that you should definitely try! With one bite, the rich taste of salmon roe fills your mouth.
I had heard that they use carefully selected salmon roe, but this was the first time I'd ever tasted salmon roe that was so rich and of such high quality!
Itoshima seafood bowl
The highly ordered "Itoshima Kaisendon" (regular 2,800 yen, premium 3,800 yen, ultra premium 4,800 yen) is a perennial favorite.
The number and types of toppings vary between regular, high-grade, and premium. The regular has eight types of seafood, and the high-grade has 11 types of seafood.
This time I ordered the finest option. There were 10 different types, and they were all topped with the most extravagant and special ingredients.
The types of toppings available include sea bream, shrimp, scallops, salmon roe, crab, sea urchin, lean tuna, fatty tuna, boiled abalone, and boiled conger eel.
Enjoying this dish while taking in the spectacular view was a real treat!
Bluefin tuna three-color rice bowl
The "Three-Color Bluefin Tuna Rice Bowl" (3,300 yen) is a rice bowl that allows you to compare three different types of tuna: otoro, chutoro, and lean.
It was rich in fat and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture! It was a truly luxurious taste.
Ran egg Ran
The new product "Ran Tamago Ran" (2,000 yen) started on June 3rd.
This is a hearty dish topped with three types of eggs: shiny salmon roe, thick omelet, and Fukuoka's specialty, Spicy Fish Eggs.
The rich, popping flavor of Spicy Fish Eggs, the spicy mentaiko, and the gentle sweetness of the thick omelet combine to make this a dish that will have you coming back for more!
A generous amount of shredded seaweed was placed on top of the rice, adding an extra richness to the flavor.
A wide variety of drinks available
"Itoshima Kaisendo" has a wide variety of drinks, including not only soft drinks but also many alcoholic drinks.
This time, I came by car, so I ordered a non-alcoholic "All Free (draft)" (480 yen) as a reward. It was great to drink a glass while looking at the blue sky and the sea.
Recently, they have also started serving set menus, so don't miss that! Please come and visit us. (Text by CHIHIRO)
