This time, I would like to introduce a recommended hidden bakery in Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City.

Open only two days a week! A hidden bakery called "chikopain" (Nagao, Jonan Ward, Fukuoka City)

Chikopain is open only on Fridays and Saturdays. It's tucked away in a residential area, giving it a hideaway-like atmosphere. And yet, it's a popular restaurant with over 6,000 followers on Instagram.

Inside the store, rows of freshly baked bread are lined up, filling the air with a delicious aroma.

A wide variety of English muffins are available!

This shop continues to make English muffins as a staple, and always has about five different kinds on stock.

All English muffins are thickly baked!

If you rebake it at home, it will taste better if you cut it in half before baking.

Thick English muffin with walnuts

The "Thick English Muffin with Walnut" (320 yen) is made using "Kyu Plus Yume," a strong flour that is a unique blend of wheat from Kyushu and Hokkaido.

It contains lots of fragrant walnuts and is delicious whether eaten as is or rebaked!

Thick English muffin sweet corn

"Thick English Muffin Sweet Corn" (360 yen) is filled with plenty of butter-roasted corn.

You can enjoy the crunchy texture and the sweetness of the juicy corn.

Onion focaccia

"Onion Focaccia" (360 yen) made with onions grown by the owner's father.

The onions, which have been slowly fried to bring out their sweetness, go perfectly with the focaccia.

Cream bun

This is the "Cream Bread" (360 yen). The rich dough is scented with almond powder and is filled with vanilla-scented homemade custard cream.

When you bake it in the toaster, the outside becomes crispy and the cream oozes out from the inside.

Matcha, adzuki bean and white chocolate melon bread

This is the "Matcha Azuki White Chocolate Melon Bread" (300 yen).

The outside of the matcha dough has a rich flavor with the aroma of almond powder, and the inside is filled with homemade dainagon kanoko beans and white chocolate chips.

I recommend re-baking it and serving it with vanilla ice cream.

Plain bagel with rice flour

This is the "Plain Bagel with Rice Flour" (280 yen). It has a nice chewy texture and sweetness from the rice!

It contains 10% rice flour from Saga Prefecture.
